Terror on the Loose?! Let's Start a Riot!

Twigs, branches, even logs cracked and gave way to the beast as it rushed through the brush, chasing after its prey - a deer, unable to lose the massive beast. The deer jumped over a fallen log, but the ground on the other side was rocky; the deer lost its balance, stumbling and stalling for just an instant. But that's all it took.

A giant of a woman with a mane of dark hair sat up from the boulder she had been sprawled out across at the sound of the roar. It was distant, but from here, she could see out above the treeline - and she was just in time to witness the trees shaking and birds taking to their wings from the source of the noise.

Harley Riot blinked a few times, and then stretched out with her hands over her head with a great yawn. She planted her hands on the boulder, pushing herself up and back onto her feet, and then resumed her stretching - a boulder for a bed wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, after all.

After her stretching was done, Harley stood a little straighter, a big grin on her face. "And here I thought this was going to be a boring stop," she proclaimed to exactly no one, and then began trudging through the woods of Mt. Obsidian, in the direction of the great roar.

Camp was set upon the ruins of some building. The foundation remained though much of what sat above seemed to have wasted away with years past. Rising up in the place of stone structures were tents, multiple small ones and one large one for The Major as he liked to be called. For her part she was tucked away in one of the small tents, her hammock set up she laid in it snoozing away the daylight hours.

Her purple hair rolled down her sides as she snuggled into her jacket to refresh her strength. A yawn slipped from her mouth, the sun as it beat down upon the group was bringing them all into a rather lax state. It was decided that they'd take up the hunt again when the sun came closer to the ground. Or at least that was the plan until the roaring of the beast echoed out from within the forest. In response a bell chimed, and her and a dozen others got out of there hammocks, some in a slow daze, some with a measured unfurling, and some, like her, with a jump and a smile.

Grabbing a pair of holsters as they hanged from one of the poles of her hammock she purple-haired shooter slung them both to her pants. The motion was quick and one practiced ad nauseam. She jumped the pep in her step bouncing her on the balls of her feet. A quick hand swung by her holster pulling a silvered gun out and forth in a moment as she brought it up to look down its sight. And then in an instant later it returned to its place.

"I never understand how you have this much energy." A voice spoke from behind her. She turned, "Ahh Yumi, well you know! It's the thrill of the chase! The hunt, it doesn't ..." she eyed her white-haired friend with a knowing eye. Yumi had always been like this, the sharpshooter was carefully inspecting her oversized behemoth of a gun. She walked over and patted Yumi on the back with two powerful slaps "You know me Yumi, I'm always like this. Just like you're always so lethargic, maybe you need the change."

The sharpshooter looked up at her, "Yeah Nina, perhaps you're right." She said with a half-invested smile. "Well, where's the -" Yumi's voice stopped as the thunderous step could be heard. Crashing out of the main tent was a burly hulk of a man. Covered in hair in all of the places, with muscles bulging everywhere, and a strange swirling white mustache, The Major burst onto the scene. His real name, well Nina never cared to remember it, besides he enjoyed being referred to as The Major anyways.

He stood like a monolith grasping his hunting rifle with care, on his back a large machete hung across him. There was a powerful smile on his face, he was their leader, their benefactor, and also the one who'd let loose the monster who'd given that roar upon this island. The consummate gamesman, he'd set forth this crazy hunt, bringing only a handful of recommended hunters to keep him company as he challenged himself once again. There was a disturbed smile on his face, not that any of them cared, it was the money they wanted. "All Right Men ... Ladies, Let's get this show on the road!"

Nina smiled and pumped a fist into the air engulfed in the energy of it. Beside her Yumi looked at her like she was an idiot. Nina shrugged, she was on the hunt again, that was what mattered.

Harley soon made her way to a cliff, looking out over the rest of the island - if she was going to make her way toward whatever beast made that ruckus, she was going to have to make her way down. She raised a hand to her hat, adjusting it by the brim as she double-checked her direction, and then leaned over the edge, peering down into the trees below her. "Hmmmm... That's gonna be quite the fall," she remarked with a low whistle for added effect, and then grinned.

And that was when she noticed the wolves behind her. She stood straighter at the sound of their wary growling, and then turned around to face the four canines, snarling at her. Harley locked eyes with the one she assumed was the leader, grinning wider as she stepped forward. "You want to give me a warm up, eh? Gararara!"

It had been a short-lived encounter. The wolves, stirred up as they were by the disturbance presented by the fiercer predator on their turf, charged at the giant woman they had been stalking - whose own retaliation had been powerful enough to not only handle the entire pack in one fell swoop, but also powerful enough to cause the edge of the cliff the encounter had happened on to crack and fall to the forest below.

Harley picked herself up from the rubble, brushing off dust and pebbles from the shoulders of her jacket, and then looked around her. The body of the "leader" wolf, as she had assumed them to be, was crumpled beside her - and then she turned her gaze to the broken cliff above. Not a single wolf was in sight, so... The massive punk nodded to herself, and then got back to her little adventure.

Harley found herself stopped in front of a ravine, a river flowing below her. She tapped her chin, looking around at her surroundings - the ravine was too wide to jump, and it'd take too long to climb back up if she fell down. Sure, she could just use her Devil Fruit ability to create a simple bridge, but where would the adventure be in that? But that left her in something of a pickle...

That is, until she looked behind her, at one of the massive trees she had just walked past.

It took one good kick, with her full weight behind it, to fell the tree. Harley lifted the whole thing up, roots and all, and then carried it over to the ravine, slamming it into the ground with another heavy crash - forming her very own awesome adventure bridge! Satisfied with herself, she jumped up on top of it and walked across, without any more fuss.

Well, she did push another tree over on the other side, but that was more for herself and the sort of rush it gave her than because she needed to for any real reason. In fact, as she continued along the way she had decided was correct, Harley continued to knock trees and brush alike aside - no stupid forest was going to stand in her way, not when there was some cool tough beast for her to fight!

While The Major centered the line of hunters as they pushed into the jungle, Nina was on the side. At the far edge of the formation to be exact, the next hunter over was Yumi as the group fanned out in search of their quarry. Unlike most of the group, Nina was quite at home in this long distance tracking so she ranged out ahead of where she was supposed to be.

Her feet traversed the jumble of Mt. Obsidian's forest. Purple eyes pierced the shaded world searching for signs of wildlife. It was second nature for her to do just this, not that it was necessary in this case. The tracks they were looking for were known. Easily the size of two men, the single footprint they'd find was impossible to mistake for anything else. With only uneven ground and rolling roots to stop her Nina made good time as she pushed on ahead of the group scouting the flanks. After a while of pulling farther and farther ahead of the group Nina stopped. Setting up near a tree she settled down for some rest and to wait for the end of the formation to catch up with her.

Sitting on a large root as it rose out of the side of a tree she swung her legs happily. Her eyes scanned the area keeping an eye out for any trouble that might've been coming her way. Her ears were perked, the sound of branches being crushed underfoot was the chief concern on her mind. But while she waited listening and looking she had not much else to do. Her hands swung uselessly by her side, until she pulled out one of her pistols. Opening the magazine she glanced inside it, a few tranquilizer shots were stuck in it. Nodding to herself she unloaded the magazine for a moment pulled a piece of cloth from her waist and began to clean her gun.

Her lips pulled together as she momentarily thought to start whistling. It was a normal activity for her while she did some gun cleaning though in this case she held herself back. "So you waited for us." A voice called from farther back. It was recognizable so she simply looked up and towards it. Slowly moving and skulking between trees Yumi was heading in her direction. Her rifle was slung over her back as she picked her way through the undergrowth. "Of course I did." Nina smiled at her coworker.

"I assume you didn't hear?" Nina tilted her head, confused was the operative word for her at the moment. "Hear what?"

"We found the trail, sounded like it was fresh. Come on we need to rejoin the others." Yumi said. Nina's eyes perked up as she hopped off of her root. Quickly slamming the magazine into its place she looked to Yumi. "Lead the-" her last word was cut off by a paired roar and scream. Both Yumi and Nina's eyes widened suddenly. "Follow me!" She exclaimed as she headed off in the direction of the sound. She'd be faster than Yumi, but Yumi'd be able to follow her trail. Unfortunately it seemed Nina didn't have time to waste.

A nearby roar - and a scream? - got Harley's attention. She course-corrected in the direction of the roar and, without a care for her surroundings, charged forward, shouldering a smaller tree out of the way like the calamity on two legs that she was.

It was only half a minute that later that she arrived on the scene. A massive, shaggy, black-furred behemoth with long, powerful arms and two white stripes circling its wide body tossed a bloodied body across the newly-made clearing, and began advancing on its new plaything, oblivious to the new presence skidding to a stop at the other side of the clearing.

Well, it wasn't oblivious for long. A small tree thrown against its back, causing the beast to stumble, was enough to get its attention. Harley's grin, newly-returned, faltered into a bout of laughter at the beast's face. In sharp contrast with its massive body, the beast's face was adorable, with bright beads for eyes and small, rounded ears set slightly off the top of its head - it was the weirdest monkey the big brawler had ever seen, especially since it didn't even have a tail. The beast turned quickly, planting both of its sharp-clawed paws on the ground, and roared a challenge at her, spittle flying from its ferocious-looking teeth.

Harley was still pulling herself together when the beast charged her at unbelievable speed - and, before she could react, it had grabbed her between its massive paws and sent her sailing back through the woods, crashing against and through trees with immense force.

[Flame]

When Nina arrived the beast was alone in a clearing made by itself. Trees were felled left and right about it. Buried in one of its claws was the broken bloodied body of what used to be one of the hunters. Where the rest were? She spared only half a second to look around, she hadn't a clue. Perhaps they were waiting for something, or maybe they had retreated ... her eyes flickered to the body in the beast's hand. There was some obligation to retrieve him, but then ... she thought to herself as she watched the creature lift its fallen prey into the air closer and closer to its face.

Nina bit her lip, she'd been on many hunts, though normally of creatures that were a little more docile. And none of this immense size, she guessed at how many tranquilizer shots it would take to bring this thing down. It seemed at least ten times taller than her and probably weighed, hundreds more than she did. "ahh what could it hurt ..." she muttered beneath her breath a smile rising upon her face. The crazy girl also liked a bit of a challenge. Her hands slipped to her sides taking both of her pistols out of the holster.

"Oi! Right here!" She called out. For Yumi's sake she hoped the hunter was a little slow in getting to the area. For once the beast turned she saw it in its full visage. Long thick trunks of arms, heavy fur on the body, she smiled, Nina would enjoy this, assuming she didn't get hit by one of those claws. Bringing forth both pistols she aimed them at the beast. Thankfully accuracy wasn't a big deal with such a large target. Four tranq shots were fired off almost instantly by her, they crashed into the beast hopefully like little bee stings.

Unfortunately this only enraged it, she needed more, more time and more shots. And then it charged her, squashing trunks underfoot and bulling away trees like they were nothing the long-armed giant bear came careening into her at speed. Only fast footwork saved her from the swipe of its outstretched claw as she fled on foot through the brush. She needed to lead it away from where the other hunters were. She needed time for the tranquilizers to take effect ... if they did.

Cursing under her breath not knowing whether she needed more she spun and let loose another volley of four darts. She'd need to reload soon, she bit her lip. The beast was faster than it looked for such a lumbering monster. The trees barely fazed it, still she needed time for it to work. Which meant, her eyes veered forward for a moment.

She needed to run.

Harley pulled herself out of the tree trunk that had finally stopped her flight, shaking splinters out of her mane of black hair. She huffed, picking up her cap from where it had fallen, and pushed it atop her head. "Hmph. That's one fast f***er. But I'm still meaner by far, gararara!"

She took a step forward, and then stopped. The sounds of a chase, the pounding of the ground - the beast was chasing something else, or fleeing. The latter was more likely; the adorable-faced creature had probably gotten a sniff of the raw power she was packing and decided its best bet was to get her as far away from it as possible! Harley nodded to herself, mentally confirming her own truth, and then charged off in the direction of the best.

As she charged off to head off the beast, her lower torso and down crumbled away into a wave of small pebbles, propelling her faster than she could run. And, suddenly, through the brush, she spotted the beast, oblivious once more to her presence.

With a cacophony of crashes, Harley slammed into the side of the beast with her full weight and momentum, knocking the weird not-monkey off course from the girl it had been chasing. The giant of a woman's legs took form from the wave of gravel as she fell into place where the beast had been a moment before, grinning wildly. She took an aggressive, forward stance, shoulders back, both hands balled up into massive fists - and then the beast finally locked eyes with her, after picking itself back up. "Come on - no more running, coward! Stand your ground and fight me, like a man!"

[Flame]

She ran and ran, her eyes aimed directly at the ground before her. Feet plied the ground at speed as she tried to stay out of the way of the beast chasing her. Behind her the steady stomping of the massive bear's claws reminded her of how close she was to being clobbered by a claw. Her breath quickened slowly as she continued on and on. Maybe this wasn't the best plan ... she suddenly thought to herself almost bringing herself to a laugh if not for the seriousness of the situation.

Daring a glance she turned her head around just in time to see someone or something slam into the side of the massive ursa sending it off course. She slowed to a walk turning curiously wondering what was going on. She eyed the woman who stood where the beast had once been. Tilting her head Nina frowned, Who the hell is that ... She didn't recognize her, whoever she was she wasn't part of the hunting team, at least as far as she knew.

The bear turned to face that woman. Nina bit her lip, "Ah well ..." Her hands moved dropping the magazines from her guns and grabbing her steel tipped ammunition to load them in. She snapped them in then paused as another voice rose above the crowd.

"Ahh my quarry at last." It was The Major. The sound of a gun cracked in the air. Sounded like his hunting rifle, his high caliber massive gun meant for taking out large prey. Glancing around she found herself a nice big root. She had that distinct feeling that something interesting was going to happen now. Hopping onto the root she sat down and smiled. Nina expected a show now.

The massive crack that sounded through the air caused the beast to wince - or so it seemed at first, but the blood that stained and matted its fur caused Harley to reconsider. Both beast and woman turned their heads, snarling in sync, at the newcomer.

"Ahh, my quarry at last," the hunting rifle-toting man exclaimed as he arrived on the scene. The mustached man looked mighty pleased with himself as he beheld the beast, holding the rifle casually in one hand as he strode forward but raising it up to fire off another round as he approached. "And a mighty quarry you are! A shame that the game is over so soo-"

"Oi, what's your problem?!" Harley shot off at the man, taking a few earth-shaking steps toward him, turning her back to the beast as she did. "We were in the middle of something, geezer!"

The Major stopped in his tracks, dropping his rifle a few inches. "I... Beg your pardon?" He looked absolutely baffled by the colossal brute approaching him, tilting his head up as she got closer to maintain eye contact. "This is my hunt - if anything, I should be asking you what your 'problem' is-"

Harley didn't let him get any farther as her massive fist met his face, sending the man flat onto his back and the large hunting rifle clattering out of his hands. She huffed, straightened her hat, and then spun back around, just in time to greet the beast's massive paw, which slammed her backward. She hit a thick tree trunk hard, but pulled herself out an instant later - and then seemed to notice the other woman, seated on one of the massive tree's roots, for the first time. "Hey, you're not gonna to interfere, are ya?"

[Flame]

"Nina, why are you just sitting there?" The voice from over her shoulder caused her head to turn. "Huh? Nothin', just watching the show." She responded to Yumi's question as the sniper walked over to her. Gesturing in front of her she pointed to the dubious trio of bear, woman, and the Major. "The sho- Ahh ... who is that woman?" Nina shrugged.

The sniper sat next to her on the roots watching the, "Oh, she's going to-" Nina flinched as she watched the woman's fist crash into the Major. From where she sat Nina began to laugh uncontrollably. She glanced at Yumi, the sniper glanced back at her before she also began to giggle in her own light manner. "That's going to hurt in the morning." Nina managed to blurt out before falling back into laughter.

"By the way where are the rest of them? You know apart from ... him and the Major." She pointed over at the bloodied body for a moment. For Yumi's part the marksman had stopped laughing and glanced at the corpse before blanching.

"They're ... uhh, they probably ran when they saw what happened." The sniper put in a guess, Nina paused glancing at her to assess the comment. Yeah, the marksman wasn't lying to her. She turned her head forward to watch the woman slam a fist into the bear's paw. The woman went flying crashing into a tree, the same one that Nina was sitting by. She glanced over at her curiously her friend doing the same.

The woman asked if she was going to interfere. Nina paused almost reaching for her guns for a moment before deciding against. "You look like you'll be fine, just use that earth stuff you've been doing." She said with a shrug. Not her problem, with the Major down there wasn't really an incentive to hunt at the moment. Besides she was curious what was about to happen. Lights danced in her eyes, definitely fun.

Harley took the answer with a curt nod, and then turned back to the roaring bear, regaining her wild grin. "Then it's just me and you, you weird monkey!" she roared, and then bounced off the tree's massive root, practically throwing herself at the giant beast.

The punk collided with the bear, tackling it onto its back - only to be thrown into the ground a moment later as it righted itself. She picked herself up from the dirt, and then there was the sound of shifting rock as her right arm, from the elbow down, began taking on more mass and a rocky appearance. Harley spun in place as the beast bore down upon her, dragging the boulder replacing her arm across the ground. "Grand..." she began, and then lifted her boulder-arm slightly - just enough to bring it off the ground, turning her spin into a sudden swing which slammed directly into the beast's face and sent it up and off the ground, crashing into the trees a couple yards to the side. "Slam!"

As the beast recovered from the unexpected hit, Harley wiped a bit of blood away from around her mouth, grinning all the while - at least, until she noticed that the man she had knocked down a moment before was unsteadily regaining his footing. The mustachioed hunter was just reaching for his big game hunting rifle as the giant punk raised her foot into the air over head. "Oh no you don't! Back off, jackass, this is my fight - Richter Punk!"

Harley's foot slammed into the ground, cracking the earth. The cracks spread outward, and then the ground beneath them in the newly-made surrounding clearing roiled into dangerous life, creating shelves and crumbling in mass destruction. 'The Major' threw his hands out to his sides in a desperate attempt to keep his balance - but it was in vain, as he tumbled backward, further away from his rifle, which in turn fell between two cracks in the earth. A moment later, a horrible crunch gave from the spot it had disappeared into as the two earthen shelves slammed back into each other. All the while, the brawler laughed her loud, distinct gararara laugh, clearly pleased with how well that'd worked out.

[Flame]

"So ... you got any plans now?" Yumi asked as the pair watched that woman go head to head with monstrous bear they'd been hunting moments before. Still sitting atop the wrangling roots of the tree, Nina swung her feet about flippantly. "Not particularly, why? Do you have something more interesting?" She asked her friend curiously.

The marksman shouldered her rifle for a moment of silence, of course save for the sounds of the fight happening not too far in front of them. "I was thinking of returning to camp. I doubt we'll be getting paid given how ... that is going." She said pointing a finger over to the ongoing battle as their 'employer' was dropped off his feet by a movement of rock. Nina chuckled heartily at the comment and couldn't help but agree with Yumi's expectation. Not that she particularly cared for the pay, it was the hunting that drove her. Well, most of the time.

Nina swung her legs jumping to her feet. "Camp huh?" She said considering the prospect. "I'll stick around, I'm curious about how this goes. It's rather exhilarating isn't it." Energy coursed through her voice, her fingers went to her weapons by instinct. Fingers clung like static to the pair of pistols holstered at her waist.

The sound of footsteps walking away told Nina what she sort of expected. "Alright then, later then Nina. Hope to see ya around." Nina raised a hand waving it back and forth in deference to the marksman as she slid away into the depth of the jungle. For her part the huntress simply stood there watching as the fighting continued on. Her guns in hand yet holstered she watched with curious eyes. Both fighters were confusing and interesting in their own way. Both intrigued her enough to keep her watching.

Harley pulled her foot out of the ground as the shaking came to an end, leaving the clearing in a state of total disarray and destruction - smaller trees had been uprooted and crushed, leaving splinters and branches strewn about. Parts of the ground were still higher than others and deep cracks still ran throughout the earth, centered on and leading back to the point where the brawler's foot had broken the ground.

"Oi, gun chick, you good?" she shot back, though she didn't actually move her head to look. The sound of snapping trees heralded the return of her actual opponent, which was what her full attention was given to - and just in time, as the massive beast came flying at her, bringing its two long arms down to crush her into the ground. Harley clenched her right fist, and, with the distinctive sound of rocks running against one another, brought it forward to punch the beast.

Her fist was replaced, however, by the massive, fist-shaped boulder, rocky skin connecting it to the rest of her arm. "Meteor Punk!" The beast and Harley's attacks clashed with the sound of breaking stone, Harley grunting with exertion - and then the beast was pushed backward, flying upward in an arc above the trees.

The giant boulder fist dropped to the ground, a stone arm still attached, leaving Harley with a single arm as she turned back around to face her audience of one. "Hey, thanks for not messing with my fight!"" She gave the girl a thumbs up with her remaining hand, and then started walking toward her. "... So, who are you?"

[Flame]

The woman called out to her in words that Nina didn't care to listen for. No she was more concentrated on a different sound that seemed apparent to her but not to that woman. Not yet at least, but soon enough, the rocky one turned about to the sound of cracking trees. That combined with the sound of heavy feet upon the ground spoke of the enemy she'd been fighting for a while. Nina's smile rose as the beast flew out of the jungle's depths.

She laughed her amusement as the woman turned her arm growing into a large rock of some sort that slammed into the beast sending it flying off once again. Nina cackled at the sight of it, oh yes this one was quite the interesting one. And suddenly she was talking to Nina. The huntress blinked twice reassuring herself that this was in fact what was happening. Words of thanks, Nina nodded along, "Sure not a problem." She commented casually, it would've been an interesting hunt for her, but it was an equally interesting show to watch.

Nina allowed a hand to leave one of her pistols. Purple eyes never leaving the advancing woman as she returned the thumbs up that she'd been given. "Nina." She responded casually to the question of who she was. "And you? Who are you and what are you doing on this island? You're not part of the hunting crew." Nina asked with a raised eyebrow. There wasn't supposed to be anyone else on this island, at least as far as they knew.

Harley nodded emphatically as rocks began pouring from her shoulder, most clinging together and forming the structure of her arm while a handful clattered to the ground. "The name's Harley! It's good to meet ya, Nina." As her arm finished reforming, the giant brawler lifted it to give the other girl a big thumbs up.

"Eh, I'm not really doing anything, honestly. Just drifted here," she explained as she took a few steps toward Nina - though Harley stopped in her tracks a second later. "What's all this about a hunting crew? There doesn't really seem to be anything worth hunting on this island, unless... I mean, unless you like venison, and hey, that's pretty tasty, so..." She shrugged, and then sat cross-legged on the ground in front of the gun-toting girl, a big smile plastered across her face.
