Takeshi stepped out of the makeshift medical bay just in time to witness the beginning of the commotion. He stopped in his tracks as a massive figure dropped into the ring, sending Jaq flying out, and then swore under his breath as the man declared the arrests. Corral
He spun on his heels, only to be greeted by the top-heavy man with the nearly full-face steel mask, now wearing a Marine officer's jacket of his own. The man swiped at him with one of his hands, going to grapple the stylist, but Takeshi managed to pull away just in time. The Marine snarled at him and began to grow in size, but that was all that he stood around to see - the dark-haired stylist took off, running around the ring, trying to make his way toward the man he saw as his rival.
The fallen Gyato pulled himself out of the boxes, taking the chance to wipe some of the splinters out of his clothes. One of the Marines who had spotted him had taken a shot at him, but missed - but in his haste to get out of the way, the young swordsman had slipped and fallen to the street below. After he got himself sorted out, he looked up, toward where the tall form of Lilin's hybrid form was attempting to duel two Marine officers. "So much for keeping a low profile...!"
The lanky, green-haired Marine had drawn a thin blade - a fencer's foil - which he was using to thrust past whatever blows Lilin could spare for him. The fan-wielding woman couldn't beat her range, but her blasts of wind kept the horned human fighting to maintain her ground. Gyato took note of these things as he drew the blade Syph had created for him, running forward in an attempt to at least create an opening for his senior swordsman.
Locked down as she was, there was little that she could do - Lilin gritted her teeth, wishing silently for a reprieve so she could at least relight her pipe, but mainly because that annoying man's foil had pricked her in the stomach again. It wasn't a terribly effective weapon, that foil, but it was annoying as hell. Even more annoying was the woman's constant but weaker gusts that allowed both officers to continually push the Smoking Devil backward down the street; she hadn't had the opportunity to look behind her, but she was all but certain that there was some sort of trap that they were trying to push her into.
Just as she was thinking that she wished she had an opening, one appeared in the form of Syph's whelp - he rushed in from the side, swinging at Mistral, forcing her onto the defensive. Lilin's frown turned upside down, turning into her signature sharp-toothed smirk, as she switched back to a single-handed grip on her ōdachi. Her free hand shot forward, a plume of smoke shooting outward and into Corral's face, causing him to stumble as well.
And that was all she needed. "Back off now, lad!" Lilin barked - and Gyato complied in an instant. The fan-wielding woman tensed up, her eyes darting back and forth between the two swordsmen, unsure what to expect next; the fencing Marine Captain was still regaining his footing and coughing from the sudden smokescreen that had been thrown his way. This was just what she had been waiting for.
Lilin straightened out her right arm and held it upward in the air, pointing the tip of her blade toward the sun, and then lunged forward. In that instant, her arm seemed to turn boneless, swinging unnaturally back and forth around her in an inhumanly series of quick, powerful slashes as she charged toward the two Marines. They had been standing a couple feet apart, but her hybrid form's larger proportions and the length of her blade meant that they were both well within range - and try as they might to parry the blows, they rained down with speed and force enough to cut the two down in what was nearly an instant."Ikijigoku - Devil Lashing!"{AJ's NPC Corner!}
Welcome back to AJ's NPC Corner! Corral's due for an introduction, wouldn't you say?
Rank: Captain

Blurb: A self-proclaimed genius tactician, Captain Corral prides himself on his ability to direct the men under his command in order to cut off criminals' escape routes, using superior numbers to bring the unruly, lawless sorts to justice. He is noted for being over-confident and unsure of himself when his plans do fail, however. Prior to joining the Marines, Corral had been the prodigal student of a world-famous fencing master, and, to this day, Corral prides himself on his excellent form.
Most of the men under his command agree that he's kind of a self-absorbed dingus, though.[/ul]
[/blockquote]
