Syph Post #16 / Jaq Post #11
Huh, so she's fighting Takeshi. Might be worth taking a look. Jaq thought to himself as he stepped his way out into the ring. The former boxer ambled up giving a quick twist of his chest stretching arms and legs as he did so. Then with a final addition to his routine he went through and cracked each of his knuckles one by one. He gave his opponent a wide smile. It was another one whom he didn't recognize, but this one was different even beyond that. A long-arm human, he'd met plenty in his past on Kenzan but he'd not seen many since he'd left.
The boxer drew up to face his ab-human enemy. "You from Kenzan?" He asked curiously, Kenzan was well known as the main home of the Long Arm Tribe though he had heard there were other groups spread out about the world. At least he'd heard as much on Kenzan. "Yeah. What do you know of it?" The longarm responded as he readied himself across from Jaq. "Nothing really ..." Jaq responded putting the matter aside, his next round was about to begin.
In the moment that the ref's signal passed the pair engaged each other. It was obvious in the moment that both had learned the same style at Kenzan. Jaq and the Long-arm clashed together in moments their swift bobbing bodies clashing with the swing of fists. As one might expect the long-arm brought the real power to the battle, the former boxer smiled as he took a full punch head on with the strength of his forearm. His time away from Kenzan had almost let him forget the power that the tribe could bring. But it had not yet been that long, he took the attack smoothly. He returned the attack with a rain of blows his fist moving hard and fast at his enemy like a flurry.
The long arm came back swinging as they traded blow for blow. Right into Jaq's trap. Which was to say, he played into Jaq's game with the constant trading of blows. Jaq winced and blinked as hits rained down upon him but he was used to this. The massive punishment he gained practicing on Kenzan had made him extremely durable to hits. In combinations with his devil fruit powers he was able to weather punches for ages and ages. Unlike previous fights this one seemed to be going for the long haul. As the fight extended and punch after punch landed on each of the combatants his long-arm opponent began to get a little droopy.
"How do you like it?" Jaq taunted as he landed a trio of hits into the man's side while getting returned one in the shoulder and a pair in the gut. Gritting his teeth the Roaring Lion laughed off the attacks and continued to press forward. On the other hand his opponent was beginning to wear away. Unsteadiness on his feet and weakening blows, not to mention the surprise Jaq could see creeping upon the man's face.
It wasn't much longer, Jaq wound up and gave the man two punches to either shoulder. The wear was going much worse for his opponent who was becoming easier to dodge and hit. Then at last Jaq ducked a hit and swept the long arm's legs from beneath him sending the man tumbling to the ground. Jaq smiled as the man below him yielded to the inevitable loss. "It was fun." He said walking back to his seat to take a break. He had a bit of bruising all over his body. Even used to the fights as he was, taking hits from long-arms was punishing.
Jaq's fight had been an interesting watch for Syph. He had a brutally straight forward fighting style, he hadn't dodged as much as she suspected he might but he also got in some hits that he normally wouldn't given what he decided not to dodge. The amount of hits he took however, it bothered her. Even with his build those must have hurt a lot. She frowned slightly before shrugging it off. Well he seemed interesting to say the least. But for now she had Takeshi to fight. The swordswoman took a breath and wheeled herself away to prepare for the fight.
It was a little bit later, but soon enough her battle came up. From here she'd be able to advance to the round of eight and even further yet. She lazily cracked her neck as she came up to the ring to face off against the well-dressed stylist. Standing across from him she took his measure for the moment. She hadn't watched all of his fights, but she'd seen enough. All-in-all she wasn't all that worried. "Yo! You can yield now and save yourself a bit of pain." She said with a soft smile.
"I'm sure no one-" Syph paused considering the statement she was about to make. "Well the crowds might not like it, but you can get out of this without a bruise on your pretty little face." The Firefly smiled and laughed mostly to herself as she awaited the beginning of the match.
