"We actually escaped?..."
The rush of adrenaline had seemingly passed its course. Helena, who now stood beyond the reaches of hunters and outlaws, was finally outside the Colosseum arena and right about where she began at the beginning of this unfortunate morning. As her body winded down from the sweat and the action, she took the time to lean on a stone pillar nearby to regain her composure. "That was certainly a terrifying ordeal..." She took heavy breath after breath as the pain of her injuries began to make themselves known. In the near distance, Syph and her companions were talking amongst themselves but just like before the angel found no interest in whatever they were discussing. All she was seeking out of this relationship was to finally leave this heathen's hell hole of an island. And if that was something they just so happened to offer, that would be swell...
Helena rose to her feet as the katana wielder approached the battle-worn blonde, the woman still looked quite lively after a bout like that, and apparently issued her allies to leave for some predetermined destination. She saw them run into the streets in the same direction she knew where the docks were located and assumed that meant they had a ship or boat nearby. That was convenient, she thought. And what was even more convenient were the words that came out of the scarlet eyed sinner, What of you? Do you want to join us?"
At that moment, the angel was unsure if this day was fated to be such an inglorious mess of unfortunate events or if the Lord had truly abandoned her in this troubling time of trials and tribulations. Do I join the crow and her monstrous band or shall I take on the wrath of the warlord and his even monstrous cohorts? The thoughts raced in her mind in these short moment until Syph added on a final note of seduction, "Could have a lot of fun on my ship. Think about it." And that's when the holy knight knew her final answer.
For ages, the girl had been taught to put the needs of the group before herself. Because no matter how strong an individual may be, when the dust finally fell and the sea winds blew, the wanderer dies but the crew survives. Helena did not know what plans the Lord had in store for her but she knew the road to redemption would not be an easy one. If the beginning of her journey was to be one of discovery - discovery of other worlds and cultures and people - then she needed to face them head on instead of turning away from them at the first hint of exposure. She would face this temptress and her heathen band of unfaithful fighters. Whatever the cost of it may be, she would face these infidels without hesitation or fear if it meant being accepted back to the holy land.
Helena saw Syph, Alien and Gyuh-toe race down the roads to their final destination. She stood there, melancholy as always, speaking aloud for no one but herself and the Lord she followed, answering the very question that her 'friend' has asked of her, "There is no further need to 'think' of the matter...I will ride alongside the lot of you, engage in all your filth and share your customs. Maybe then, when I've finally seen just what I am striving to oppose, the Light will shine on me once more...Just maybe."
She took out Solace from her back and admired the sun's light shining on it once more - the light on her armor as well. It was funny, she thought. Though an angel she appeared, the unsung hero this day was the devil who brought her to this Festival in the first place. A smirk formed on her lips and she couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of the situation. "Thanks to you demon, I may grow closer to the Light than if you had left me alone...You have my gratitude." Helena sheathed the golden blade and sprinted towards the fleeing infidels, "Don't forget of me, you fools!"
