Alignment: A Cheeky Neutral
ConfidentMars is a confident person, perhaps to a fault. He trusts in his own strength, some times whether or not he should have said confidence. His confidence can lead to quite a bit of cheekiness on his part. And of getting into situations beyond the scope of his ability. But he is happy with what his trait leads him into most of the time and doesn't shy away from it.
Thinks Himself SuaveMars thinks that he's a bit of a lady's man. Whether or not he actually is tends to be up to the lady, and generally they find he is not but he tries none the less. He thinks he attracts due to some boyish charm, perhaps from looking like he's still in his teens, which he is definitely not. But still he flirts as best he can and tries to say cool lines when he judges the time right.
A Swordsman's HonorMars is a pirate, but he follows the honor code of a swordsman. Which means not attacking his enemy while there back is turned. Accepting duels when they are asked of him. And trying his hardest never to allow a wound to be delivered to his back. If he can he prefers not to bring harm to women, but he has seen enough of the world to know that is not always an option. On top of his swordsman's honor, he keeps to a moral ground, trying not to kill whenever possible and not judging those for what they are, but for the actions they take and the beliefs for which they stand.
The Casual JokerMars tends to be quite laid back when not around the ladies. He likes to lay about and relax, placing arms behind his head and looking up to the sky. His posture will slack a little and he thinks himself of quite the funnyman. He jokes, though not always particularly well to any other than himself. Even when not laid back he can be like this, though it is suppressed a bit. The part he cannot suppress is his love of jokes, they make him easily amused, and not excessively hard to bring to the verge of laughter.

AppearanceMars tends to have a cheeky grin on his face. It is a happy face though it is constantly covered in bruises. While he has yet to scar, he consistently wears bandages atop it. In rare occurrences when he is between fights bandages may not be found on his face but it is more unusual than not. His most notable garb is the fedora he wears atop his head. His clothing while not always the same always follow a similar pattern. He wears black shoes, normally in a fairly nice fashion and atop of them slacks. The color matters not to him, though he tends to stick to either khaki or black colors perhaps out of some subconscious want. Atop that a button up shirt, either striped or checkered in whatever color. Atop that finally he wears any number of things, jackets, vests, hoodies, whatever suits him at the moment.

A Log PosePassed down to him by his father, he keeps it on a leather rope which hangs around his neck. He keeps it more of a memento of his family back at home and finds it very puzzling as it at the moment seems a horrible compass that never points in the right direction.
An Actual CompassWhile he has a good sense of direction, Mars still has the common sense necessary to keep a compass to double check his headings. He's not particularly smart, but he's also not that stupid.

He is also naturally attuned to direction, with only a few glances at a map he can confidently recognize his current location and generally how to get to where he wishes to go.
CookingMars is a hobbyish sort of cook. He has not the skill to make highly refined dishes or to make things of excessively good taste. But he has enough skill to make a quality meal. He enjoys dealing with meat, particularly barbecuing and smoking meats. He has enough basic skill in cooking to make most things though not everything to a high enough quality to fulfill a true cook's position.

Inhuman Toughness - Human Trait #1Mars B. Lizst, even just by looking at him one can tell he's been through a fight or two more than most. He is commonly bruising over the place with bandages wrapped about one part of his body or another. But this belies a stronger truth,
his body is strengthening itself each time he heals. His body is able to protect him from some amount of physical damage allowing him to stand through what might knockout another.
Catlike Grace - Human Trait #2Mars has an almost cat-like grace to his movements. As someone who believes in the artistic side of swordfighting he has worked to perfect this for mosto f his sword-fighting life. He is far more agile and coordinated than your usual swashbuckler. He will skip and dodge out of situations while maintaining a very solid sense of balance where many would likely tumble to the side instead.
Dexterous Hands - Additional Trait #1Mars hands are extremely dexterous, as he'll gladly let any female find out first hand. He in fact practices just for that ... well also because it improves his swordsmanship. His sword control is first rate, easily beyond even that of fencers. Whether it be slashing or stabbing Mars' attacks usually fall exactly where he wants them.-Fighting Styles-
A Swashbuckler's Discipline

Mars fighting discipline is attuned to that of a swashbuckler. Wielding his cane sword as his main weapon he maintains a certain sense of art about his movements. He is well trained with the weapon capable of using both sword and sheath as if dual wielding with a good measure of confidence. Alongside his sword, he has the confidence in combat to use both his arms and legs (though his arms with his hands are usually set in using his weapon) as assets and weapons. A more dexterous warrior, he prefers to dodge around and come in for swift flurries of attacks before opening up ground again and reassessing the fight.

WeaponThe Cane Sword
Rank 0 SwordMars' cane sword is a thin blade of steel. It is of strong make, or at least strong enough to handle most combatants. It's blade is approximately as long as his arm. The cane is straight, there is no curve near where the handle would be, instead it has a metal encasing at the hilt and a rubber grip atop it. The sheath is a dark oak-wood, it has a maroon hue and a sheen which signifies its finish to repel water. It is in many ways the weapon of a gentleman much better than Mars.

And then in an instant he releases, all the power he gathers explodes outwards and he leaps forward thrusting his blade at his enemy while twisting the wrist. The twist creates a small air slash that cuts forward slightly ahead of the blade before it impacts.

Shiina Bei First Girlfriend - Presumed Alive - Mars has fond memories of his first girlfriend. After the tragedy that befell him and his then 'disappearance' from Nostra he has been estranged from her and her from him. He has no expectation that he'll meet her again and thus continues to mack on the females he meets.
Kaito Benefactor - Alive - Mars is excessively grateful to Kaito, it is because of Kaito that Mars has gotten over his shadows, he was sad to leave them. He believes he needs to do something to repay him. Kaito is also the person who taught Mars swordsmanship.
Gillard Skull Mentor - Alive - Mars looks up to Gillard as a role model for how he ought to live. His mentor in both navigating and flirting with girls, Gillard only succeeded in teaching one of the two into him.

-Foes-The Polar Bear Marine Officer - Alive - Mars does not know his actual name. Instead referred to by his epithet of the Polar Bear, Mars has a begrudging respect for the man's strength. Otherwise he hates this man's guts, as the current owner of Mars' cane sword he has sworn eternal vengeance of the man he calls WAGA TEKI.
{History}
Youth (0-12)Mars was born on the island of Cinna Island in the South Blue. His family was a nothing special middle class all-to-common of a family. For the first few years of his life, Mars was an only child, living a normal life, and simply having as much fun as he could playing in the streets of the port city of Santa Barbados. At the age of five, the first major occurrence in his life happened. His sister Ringo was born. Mars was all too happy to have a sibling and treated her as best he could as they grew up. In fact he was quite the doting brother. Loving her as well as he knew how.
Teenage Years (13-16)As Mars grew older and continued to encounter more kids his age, he then began the transformative years of puberty. His interest in girls (not his sister) peaked, and he began to stray from his sister their parents quite a bit. Mars was a bit of a troublemaker, staying out late, getting into fights, etc. His education stalled as he stuck about with kids his own age. It was also at the bright young of fourteen that he gained his greatest distraction yet. His first girlfriend of sorts, it was a girl about his age, named Shiina. She was from a different part of town but Mars was so entranced by her that he was constantly disappearing from his own home to go and visit her. The pair were fast friends, and happy lovers, if what they did could be called 'loving'. It amounted to little more than hand holding and pecks on the cheek. He was a happy kid during these times, though he came back with bruises quite a bit he was a happy little kid.
Dark Times (17)It was a little after he turned 16 that tragedy struck While he was out hanging with Shiina and muscling about with his other friends something happened at his home. He of course heard nothing of it, and when he came back he found his home in shambles. Door busted in, furniture crushed, closets ajar, blood spilled across everywhere, but no bodies. No indication of his famiy's whereabouts could be found. The main thing he found was the log pose which he pocketed before running off. Trying to hide from the pain, and knowing that his house was no longer safe he ran. Into the streets of NSanta Barbados and into darkness. It was here hiding in the back streets that Mars began his recovery. He began to cope, by hiding within himself and living off the land. He was a skilled enough scrapper to survive on foods he snatched and pillaged.
A Swabby's Life (18-22)It was during his life on the streets that he met his first benefactor. Funnily enough after attacking said person, in an attempt to rob the pirate by the name of Kaito as he was doing some shopping for his crew he got into a prolonged fight with the man in the back alleys. After Mars was finally defeated by Kaito, the pirate and Mars got to chatting as Kaito sat upon him enjoying the spoils of victory. The result of said conversation was Mars' joining of the crew Kaito was part of, the Cain Pirates, named after their captain Allen Cain. Joining the crew his original role was a swabbie, an apprentice. There he learned from a multitude of members. Though the pair he spent the most time with were his original benefactor Kaito and the excessively suave navigator by Gillard Skull. Mars was often found in the company of one of the two, at times learning sword-fighting from Kaito. At others he was learning how to steer a ship from Gillard. Mars' reverance of Gillard also had him trying to reproduce Gillard's suave manner which made him very popular with the ladies when they went ashore. Mars' attempts at a similar manner were far from successful. This is also when Mars adopted his now usual standard of clothing. He participated in pirating activities, the whole time, never making a big name for himself behind the bigger names of the Cain Pirates. After a few years with the Cain Pirates, they decided to head to the Grand Line to make a bigger name for themselves. However Mars did not want to leave the North Blue, so he left the crew, dropped off at the island closest to Reverse Mountain.
First Steps (23-Present)Mars has been dawdling off there ever since. Living in the area, macking on girls that he meets and in general keeping an eye out for any interesting pirate activity he may be able to become a part of. Every now and then after it seemed he had exhausted all women to try and woo and nothing seemed interesting to do he would move to the next island. Which included one visit to Karate Island. For almost a year he spent time on the island training his swordsmanship once again.
