"Oh, he's nearly useless in a real fight." Bianca laughed, and then her moment of respite was over as one of the pirates made his way around to her. She sidestepped the man's big punch, striking him in the back of the neck as he missed and stumbled.
The bounty huntress began her advance, stepping up to the oncoming group of pirates. The pirates fell upon them like a horde of shoppers at the market preparing for an oncoming blizzard, and nearly as aggressively. One man, with a heavily tattooed face, swung two axes down on Bianca, but clearly didn't anticipate the slight young woman to lean in past the sharp edges, delivering a sharp jab into his neck, leaving him to fall over, winded.
Her one true defensive technique, Sencha Aspsis, was unsuited to fighting in close quarters with an ally - after all, it was as likely to hinder Yan as it was the pirates. She stepped around another pirate, reaching down and nabbing one of the oak seeds from her seed bag around her waist, and knelt down as another three pirates moved in to tackle her to the ground. They didn't quite make it, as the tree sprouted to life and quickly grew to maturity under their bodies, tangling them in among its highest branches - only to come crashing back down several stories a moment later as the highest branches couldn't support their weight.
A handful of the pirates who had been charging in toward the white-haired girl a moment before suddenly seemed a bit more hesitant to do so. A machete-wielding man was the first to find his courage again, coming forward with a big overhead slash. Bianca made her best effort to sidestep the attack, but the weapon bit into her left shoulder anyway - but the man got the worse end of the deal as Bianca's fingers, another seed on their tip, brushed against the man's face, a rose bush blooming into existence and wrapping around his face.
At that, the remaining pirates took stock of their situation, exchanged glances, and promptly decided that they would rather be anywhere else right now, doing anything else but fight Yan and Bianca. Those who they had not already dealt with turned their backs on their allies, a few even dropping their weapons, as they ran away. Fighting the Devil Fruit user and the expert spear-wielder simply wasn't worth it, not for their captain, not for anyone.
Bianca took a moment before she moved, and then placed her hand on the wound on her shoulder, squeezing it a bit and wincing in pain. Another one she'd have to treat properly once they got back to the ship... "I'm going inside," she stated, as simply as one might declare the color of the sky, and then started walking, slowly, toward that broken-in door. She didn't wait for a response from Yan.
It was a short, uneventful walk through the building. Most of the rooms looked like they hadn't been touched since this building was first abandoned, while a couple had been converted into sleeping quarters for the crew. Nothing too special - but then, in the back of the building, was an office. The room was fairly clean and some of the holes in the walls had been boarded up with loose planks, but the most striking part about the whole room was the green Den Den Mushi sitting on the desk.
It rang, and, of course, Bianca answered. There was a second of silence, and then a voice came through."So, how did the duel go?"
Something about the situation made the white-haired woman pause - there was definitely something going on behind the scenes here. It took her a moment, but Bianca found her words. "He lost."
The person on the other end went quiet. The silence went on for another minute, only to be broken by the distinct sound of something crunching. The snail mimed the act of the other person's chewing, spitting out the sounds of whatever he was eating's crunch."How unfortunate."
