Rolling her eyes at Edens response, she shook her head and called out "Hey, I'm not complaining about the whole saving people part" She gave her Captain a flat look, "But a bit more warning than a note delivered by your furry friend sure won't be remiss" She added, drawing her sword from its sheath entirely and waiting for the enemy to make their move.
And boy did they.
The huge monkeys numbered in five, and obviously itching for a fight. One went after Eden and sent him flying, and another went for Grem even though he tried to intervene the one going after her. The big ape that went after her swung its massive fist down, intent on hammering her down into the ground like a nail. Alexandra, however, had other plans. Leaping to the side, the redhead avoided the fist only to have another coming down on her. She had to lunge backwards, and performed a haphazard tuck'n'roll to avoid hurting herself.
Then the smartass used his fists as anchors so he could swing his feet and kick her. The swords-woman used her shield to avoid taking the brunt of the damage, but it still sent her careening through the air and crashing into the wall of the hull. Groaning, She managed to disentangle herself from the wall as the stupid monkey performed a little victory dance, but dazed as she was she couldn't move fast enough to dodge the next downward swing. But she was able to raise her shield and brace herself.
The strike nearly drove her to the ground, her knees buckled but she locked them, her arm and shoulder tingled painfully and a dull ache throbbed in time with her heartbeat throughout her body. The beast struck again and she felt something in her arm snap, the pain was so sudden she dropped to her knees.
Biting back a yell of pain, she breathed through her nose and forced herself onto her feet. The giant monkey was angry now, upset that its prey wasn't dead. Quickly, she settled into her opening stance, standing sideways with her sword held in a reverse-grip and her arm pulled behind her at the ready. The damn ape rose another fist, and it came down with an angry shriek.
"Horizon Curve!" She yelled, swing her blade and twisting her body to give extra momentum and force, she even threw out her shield arm for extra speed. The two attacks met with a great deal of force, so much so that the air was displaced by it, making a small shock-wave that those nearby would surely feel. Her blade sword dug into the apes fist, and not only nearly cut the damn things finger off, but also forced the attack to curve to one side, smashing into the next to her instead of smashing her into the ground.
The best reeled back screaming, holding its bleeding hand and nearly severed forefinger. The monkeys strong bones had saved it from being completely cut off, but obviously the thing was in too much pain to particularly care about looking on the bright side.
"Alright, enough monkeying around" She growled. "Captain! You focus on getting the prisoners free. Grem, you and I will tag team and keep these things occupied for as long as we can" The young redhead grimaced as pain shot through her shield arm, sharp and searing. Honestly it may not be that long.
Running towards Grem so they could actually tag-team in their fight. Alexandra made sure to kick rocks and pieces of wood at the giant monkey going after her captain. "Oi! Banana-brain! Wanna chance your luck?" She shouted tauntingly, and like a child it fell for it. Turning away from Eden and towards her with murder in its eyes. The one she had bled was recovering from its shock, and was now beginning to look for her to seek revenge.
"Oh, and Captain?" She sent a look at the dark haired boy, "Try not to take too long" And like that, turned back to the mass of monkeys that clearly were not happy with them. Looks like they'll need to cash in on another miracle from the Fates, if they can't produce one themselves.
"Hey Grem..." She started, her voice a mix of discomfort and concern, "You wouldn't happen to have any combo-move idea's, would you?" She asked this, mainly because she had a feeling that was the only way they were going to beat these things. And she did have an idea... of sorts, but she didn't know if Grem would approve. Considering his priority is the safety of the crew, and what she was planning wasn't exactly... safe.
And boy did they.
