A shining day as ships sailed across the bay and sea with seagulls flapping overhead with their loud caws. Ruhe Krieger had currently been gathered with a few crew members in the forestry of Karate Island. Ruhe Krieger was a young girl at fourteen years old standing at 5,2. She had silver grey hair and a pair of cerulean blue eyes. She was wearing a red and blue gi with a yellow sash around her right shoulder. On her left side, twin katana rested as on her back laid her rumored weapon, a Naginata. Currently, twenty of her fifty crew members had volunteered to follow the girl, their leader into the forestry as some had been armed with rifles, and others had been armed with Katana. Ruhe Krieger had been a captain of her own pirate crew, the Wako Pirates. One may question what Ruhe Krieger and a bit under half of her crew were doing in the middle of the woods and fully armed. They were searching for treasure that had been left behind by a pirate captain...at least according to a treasure map she had procured.
There had been a group of bandits the young captain defeated nearly two months ago and robbed of their loot and valuables. She had happened to find a map to a treasure buried near the center of the island. Based on the look of it, it seemed it must have a fair bit of loot seeing someone would go through the hardships of burying it all the way inland. The animals on the island were more savage and fierce the farther inland one would travel. Ruhe was heading there on a risky gamble to gain this treasure seeing her treasury to pay wages for her crew was nonexistent and that she would need a stable finance to buy what the crew would need in the future. She had not went there by herself to gain this treasure seeing that is a deathwish. However, with her armed companions, they should be able to drive away the wild creatures and perhaps kill one or two for profit. Furs were valuable to sell at the market.
“Keep your senses sharp everyone. The area around us could be filled with dangers. Stay close to each other and prepare for anything.” She had heard a mass reply of “Hai!” before she would continue on her path. The woods were dimly lit and she knew the kinds of dangers were nothing to laugh at. Usually only skilled samurai came out to the deep center of the island to train. Occasionally in the quest of an expansion for land for residences, brave men and others would head out to slice down the forests and build homes. As her group continued their journey, they stopped as they soon felt a rumble beneath their feet. “What the hell was that captain?!” Another rumble and shake of the ground as it was clear to Ruhe what it was...a loud footstep.
A large shadow would wash over the trees and as it approached, the men looked uneasy and they had drawn their weapons. Ruhe had not hesitated to draw her Ko Naginata as she herself felt her heart beating with anticipation and perhaps fear. The monster has arrived! A large bunny rabbit had hopped landing around twenty feet away from the party as the rumbling stopped. “NANI!?!!!” Their eyes had seemingly popped from their heads as their jaws dropped down to the ground as Ruhe facepalmed as she was about to sheath her weapon. Suddenly, the rabbit had been swallowed by a monstrous fox like Wolf creature taller than most of the oak wood trees. Ruhe Krieger had widened her eyes as her crew had looked at the monster in front of them. It had looked to the large group as it licked it's lips hungrily. This was an unavoidable confrontation. “Fire at will! Shoot it!”
The wolf upon planning it's charge, it had been pelted by bullets from the armed gunmen, and although body shots didn't seem to do anything, the wolf had stopped to guard it's face with it's paw as it was under suppression fire. Gunshot after gunshot had rang out from the gunmen as the wolf growled in irritation. Ruhe Krieger had taken the moment to dash ahead of her crew as she yelled out to her swordsmen. “CHARGE! STRIKE AT THE LEGS!” Her swordsmen were but only several teenagers trained at the very dojo of the island for several years. While they were by no means incompetent, they lacked real battle experience and so they charged albeit fearfully. Six swordsmen had rushed with a cry of battle, only for the wolf to swing it's free paw knocking four of them away into the air. They cried out at the sheer force they were flung as Ruhe had leapt, hopping off of one of them like a springboard towards the debilitated wolf as gunfire ceased. “Naginata no Jutsu:Surasshu-fū! (Wind Slash)” The young lady had drawn her Naginata, and in one swift motion released a strong crescent of wind standing ten feet tall, to slam into the fifteen foot tall wolf. At the same time, the three remaining swordsmen who had avoided being flung, leapt and stabbed into the chest of the wolf.
The beast cried in agony as its blood had gushed from the large wound across its body. The three katana within it's chest pierced deeply as possible. However, before it would collapse, it gave a pained howl before slamming the ground causing the earth to crack, sending several gunmen off their feet as the three swordsmen riding the beast fell as well. It would then collapse to the ground in a sudden dramatic drop, and laid still. They had stopped this beast as it seemed to have been vanquished. It seemed easy enough to deal with one, but as her crewmates had cheered and played around, Ruhe felt a slight rumble as she knew something. “Prepare yourselves. Wolves hunt in packs.” Her crew had suddenly froze as from the forestry, three more wolves of varying sizes had appeared but all much larger than normal. One had been wearing a headband for dog on it's head in kanji, a second had a headband for wolf, and the third had one for coyote. Her crew would quickly prepare themselves as nervous sweat coated Ruhe's brow.
