Character Timeline
A character can only be in one region of the world at a time. However, you can have your character participate in multiple threads in the same region, provided that you stick to their timeline. Threads are generally considered to have occurred in chronological order, using the start date of the thread itself to determine this. Exceptions may be made, but make sure it fits!
Missions and Events are both considered out of timeline, so you may still participate in these types of thread elsewhere, regardless of where your character currently is in terms of plot.
Travel Methods
Characters may travel the seas of the One Piece world using any normal means, including public ferries (provided you’re not wanted), Marine vessels (if you are a Marine or World Government agent), personal vessels (if you own a ship) or any other viable means of transport.
The Four Blues
Characters may freely move between islands within the Four Blues (North, East, South, West) without difficulty. You may take part in as many Plot Threads within a single Blue as you wish with a single character, regardless of exactly which island the events of the story are taking place on.
You must finish up and and all Plot Threads a character is participating in within that Blue before you can move to a different part of the world. We reserve the right to deny any and all X-Poinz gains in threads associated with breaking this rule. However, once you have tied up any loose ends, you may jump to another Blue without consequence!
The Grand Line
You may freely move between routes in the Grand Line. In order to properly traverse Paradise, you and your crew will require a ship suitable for traveling these harsh seas or other logical accommodations such a hitching a ride aboard a ferry or (for World Government Agents) another World Government associated vessel.
The New World
Bon Voyage does not currently allow members to use the New World. This is because we do not know enough about this sea so far and, while more is being revealed in more recent arcs of the official manga, we will likely still have to do a lot of work in constructing this area of the world. New islands will have to be made to fill in the gaps and specific rules will need to be made regarding travel.
Please be aware that you are still fully entitled to create a character that originates from the New World, provided their backstory explains it, but you cannot actively use this sea at present.
Gateways
The Gateways are unique locations that represent the world’s natural passage between divided sections, such as Reverse Mountain, or Fishman Island. These locations are unique in that they don’t belong to a particular region of the world. As such, players may participate in threads in a Gateway while the character is actively located in another sea, without consequence.
The Calm Belt
In order to pass through the Calm Belt, your character must have a ship capable of moving through the still waters without the need of wind currents. You also need to be suitably protected from the Sea Kings that nest there through some sort of ship modification like the Marines’ Kairoseki coated hulls or using a creature to pull your ship that Sea Kings will avoid such as the giant sea serpents called Yuda that the Kuja use.
