Upon her words in trying one last time, Pluto gave out a quizzical look on his face. This was rather amusing. They were playing a game of trying to hit him, and in some manner, he was enjoying himself, beginning to understand why some fighters enjoyed watching their enemy diminish in stamina little by little. Throughout the time of their fight, he had used very little of his energy. Exerting anything more than necessary was considered in his mind to be a bad habit. After several failed attempts in trying to land a clean hit on him by the foe, he had to wonder what her supposedly last attempt would entail. Surely by now, she should understand the gap of skill level stood between them in close-ranged combat. He had more experience than her in this area while she had more experience in utilizing a weapon, mainly her scythe. Normally, not knowing what she planned on doing next brought uneasiness within his mind, but that was not the case in this scenario. Whatever the paramecia-user had in mind, he felt fully prepared in taking on the unexpected.
Being approached at suddenly, his eyes followed a noticeable difference in her posture. She was lower than usual, and one of her arm was extended for some reason. When a fist was thrown at towards his abdomen, his weight shifted towards one side, ready to maneuver around, but immediately, he rooted himself back down when the punch ended up being a feint. Eh!? Trying to deceive me? Looks like you plan to outsmart me. A wise idea, but will it work?
He recognized the pivoting footwork similar to his own preference in motion. Scarlette had circled around him, luring his eyes to follow along with a small rotation of his waist and heels while remaining in the same spot. A glimpse of red was spotted from two fingertips slicing across the deck, but the main obstacle that stood before any of that could matter was the spinning kick aimed at his back. Stepping away somehow didn’t feel right in this case. An gut feeling announced that dodging would be too late, telling him that blocking was the best approach. Just as his forearms shifted, his eyes widened in innocent confusion by another feint. That was an excellent moment in time to strike him, and Scarlette seemed shocked as if something went horribly wrong. The girl tumbled back, crying out ‘no’ and ‘stop’.
“Huh?” Pluto took a half step back away from her to provide the frightened figure some space, “Stop what? I haven’t done anything… yet.” Before he could even process on what he could have done to have brought fear into her of all people, a familiar red substance oozed out from the crevice made just a moment ago. This was nothing new to him, just a product of the Tane Tane no Mi that this woman possessed.
What? You’re summoning a homunculus. What’s there to be surprised about? His eyes followed the carmine volume taking its form, shifting higher and higher to the point that his head had to tilt up just to keep up with the drastic growth spurt, one that he had never witnessed before. The boy wasn’t wrong at all in thinking that she was summoning a homunculus. However, this wasn’t quite what he had in mind. Over twelve feet tall, this giant, humanoid figure overshadowed him with its towering size. Normally, the girl could summon a batch of them, each roughly about three feet tall. This was different. Not only had he never seen it before, Scarlette of all people seemed to have not seen this before either. Normally, Pluto would just gaze at this conjured being in awe, but if even the girl was surprised by this, a seed of an eerie feeling began to sprout in his heart.
“Hey now… You ARE able to control this thing, right?” Eyebrows furrowed as the boy tone had a small sense of nervousness in encountering something like this. Normally, that paramecia-user would give out commands for her dimwitted bloody minions to respond, and that was what gave him a sense of security because no matter what she says, he would know what those things would do at the exact same time. Hopefully, this giant version of one didn’t suddenly have a mind of its own. Furthermore, summoning this entity must have come at a huge cost of blood from the girl’s own body.
“Whao!!!” Rebecca didn’t have a hint of fear on her face. Rather, she had a look of pure curiosity and awe. “That’s cool!” The only downside was that the deck somehow felt a lot less spacious than before.
And potentially dangerous, exactly what is this thing capable of?
