Out on the Open...Waters? (Soul of the Wolves)

Yushiro stood up from his chair and jumped from where he stood, to the top of the cabin, to the sails. He stood up and started to move to the places where they were tied. He simply untied them and let his sail flow. He could tell it would be a great adventure just by feeling the breeze. He jumped back down onto the deck. He looked at his crew and smiled. He had friends now, friends that could be there for him as he would for them. "Ok crew, and Buck. Are you all ready to set sail for the vast ocean to explore the world and prove to Buck that our resolve is strong enough as long as we can believe and trust in each other. If we can do that, than any pirate who dares to attack us will fear in our crew and we can set them straight and disband their crew. Now lets set sail." he said as he jumped up to the wheel and steered the boat out of the harbor. He could see the vast ocean ahead of him and was prepared to sail it until there was nothing to sail anymore. He would take his crew to each see including the grandline and the new world after he has become the strongest crew in the four seas and started to become the strongest in the new world.

When Mai heard Buck's reply, she was utterly shocked. Her resolve was... Flawed? Just who the hell did this guy think he was to tell her something like that! When he said that there were different ways to go about their goals Mai's hands balled up into fists. This was a challenge! Mai absolutely couldn't lose to a challenge! It was insulting! Buck continued to say that they were throwing their lives away by being outlaws and that, in the end, their endeavors would just be meaningless; they would be caught and hanged as pirates.

When Buck challenged her Captain, Mai's firey glare increased but when he looked at her as though trying to stare her down, she just stared back at him unwilling to back down even a little bit. When Buck called her goal reasonable and admirable, she blushed but she didn't like how he started to put her Captain lower than herself.

"My Captain is admirable!" Mai said back in a hushed tone of voice, not willing to raise her tone just yet. That was when Buck bluntly said that her heart wavered since she hadn't said her reasons quickly enough.

When Buck turned to Haru he didn't know what Haru wanted out of his becoming a pirate. When he finally addressed everyone again, he told them that he had no intention of become a pirate but would travel on the ship. He sat down and tilted his straw hat forward.

"FINE! Who cares what you think anyways! The reason that I'm on Yushiro's crew is to see the world and I don't care what you or anyone thinks about it!" Mai shouted suddenly and angrily before turning her back on him. She was planning on storming off when she heard Yushiro from where he stood near the sails. Her angry disposition changed and she smiled at his speech.

"YEAH!" she called excitedly, really getting into the moment. Finally they were sailing off! She couldn't believe her luck! At first she had never had any intention of becoming a pirate but now, strangely enough, she felt at home more than she ever had before.

Yushiro looked out to the vast ocean ahead of him, which gave him his lovely rush that he got when having an adventure that was surely going to be dangerous and fun. He blocked the wheel so that it wouldn't move and jumped back down to the deck because he thought the saw something off in the distance. He ran to the front of the boat and looked out as far as he could. He saw another boat heading their way. He looked at the flag of it and he just backed up in anger. He knew that the flag on that ship was the flag of the pirate that killed his parents. He turned towards his crew and Buck. "Okay crew. We are about to have our first pirate battle on the sea. and this isn't any ordinary pirate crew. this crew is seriously strong. I have faced their captain once before when i was young and he spared my life. But no doubt that he has gotten stronger since than so get ready for a big fight." and with that he jumped up to the wheel and looked out to them. He unblocked the wheel and kept the ship steady. He was about to let the anchor down when there was a splash next to him. He started to dodge the cannon balls from hitting the ship. He re-blocked the wheel and ran out to the deck. He jumped up and slashed through one cannon ball and sent one right back at them and hit them. Their ship stopped moving and waited for Yushiro's ship.

Mai couldn't believe her luck. She had gotten something that she hadn't even expected- an adventure. Her stomach was full of butterflies. The ship was sailing forward. Mai suddenly turned a slight shade of green and ran for all she was worth to the side of the boat and lost it over the side. She slumped down, her knees hitting the wooden deck, when she was finished. All the excitement had not done her any favors. For a girl that was used to routine this was certaintly was the most interesting day of her entire life.

When Mai staggered back up to her feet she had to use the railing to balance herself. Her legs were wobbly and she still felt rather sick. That was when her Captain told them that they were about to have their first pirate battle on the sea. Mai turned green again and almost lost it but managed to hold it in this time. Seriously? Now! Now was NOT a good time! Couldn't the Pirate crew just make another appointment? They could just sail on by, right? Mai nodded her head in agreement to that. After all, who would know that this ship was a pirate ship? They had just stolen it after all!

That was when Yushiro told them that the pirate crew wasn't an ordinary one. The ship sailing toward them was incredibly strong. Yushiro had faced the Captain before and barely gotten away. Was this the crew that he wanted revenge against? Mai's eyes widened. That was when they started firing at them! Mai hung on to the railing as Yushiro steered them away from the canons and then headed toward the ship as it waited for their approach.

"We... We're going to fight them...?" Mai said feeling a bit faint before she pulled out her weapon and braced herself. Yeah, she was going to fight to the death now if she had to. Her eyes showed her conviction though her body shook a little. Pink hair ruffled in the ocean breeze and streamed out behind her. She was ready. She waited for Yushiro to steer the ship closer to the rival pirate crew's ship.

Aron Stopped their next to theirs and stood at the edge railing closer to the other pirates ship. The man who killed his parents stepped up to his railing as well. Yushiro was having a stare down with him until he heard what he said. "So we meet again, little santoryu. Have your parents been doing well, oh wait their dead aren't they?" and with that you would have seen Yushiro's head explode with anger, but no he responded in his own way. Yushiro took out his two swords and crossed them together. "I'm surprised you even remember me. Its been what, 14 years. I'm surprised that an old man like you would have such a memory. Yet something you should know about me. I've gotten a lot stronger since then. Force Blast!" was the last thing he said as he send the giant blast of power at him. When the smoke cleared all Yushiro could do was stare in anger. Using his crew as a shield he saved himself. Yushiro looked at Mai. "Get read Mai They are coming our way." And with that only one pirate jumped off their ship. They headed for Mai and their sword. It turns out that The man used 2 of his last crew mates. It was now a two on two battle. Yushiro Jumped on their ship and was ready to fight.

Nearby the two ships, a small handmade raft carried a sleeping Sano through the South Blue lazily. The man's shirt had a small Jolly Roger handpainted onto the front and both of his arms were slightly in the water up to his wrists as he drifted lazily towards the ships. Suddenly he woke up with a start, pulling his arms out of the water. "Bakari! Come out!" he shouted before realizing where he was. "Oh yeah. Not back home yet!" he said to himself laughing and pulling an apple out of a near empty bag. "NO! This can't be the last apple! I'll starve without them!" Sano shouted, turning the bag over, hoping to pour something out and getting disappointed. "Hey, maybe those guys have apples. And they'll take me back home if I ask really, really nicely!" he said, taking a large bite out of the apple as he paddled over to the ships. He first went over to Yushiro's ship and began banging on it. "Hey! Let me up! And give me apples!" Sano shouted up and waited for someone to answer him. When nobody did, he got upset and quickly changed into his hybrid form. He rammed one of his horns into the ship's hull and lifted himself up a short way. Luckily, the ship was strong enough that his horn stayed stuck in the hull. He began to make his way up the ship until he reached the top and looked over. "Apples?"

The wind blew around her. Kate was drifting in the sea trying to look for a ship or maybe land. She was hungry. "Dang I'm left left no food."she said aloud. Just then, she heard cannon fire. She looked to the sound of the fire and saw a ship. "Finally,"she said,"A ship. There must be food there." She rowed her boat to the ship and used her swords to climb up the ship, careful not to let people on board notice her. There were gunfire shots and shouts going about. Looks like there's a fight. She scanned the whole ship to find the kitchen and finally found it. "Great! Food." she thought happily, opening the refrigerator. True enough, there was lots of food in there, but all raw. "Cmon something must be cooked here." She dumped everything out of the fridge and finally found some sandwiches. "YES!" She gobbled it up heartily. The sound of fighitng became louder and louder. "Whew! I'm stuffed." she said loudly, before realising that everything had gone quiet. "Dang it, i can't run now. Oh well." Kate slumped on the chair and drew her swords, waiting for somebody to come.

When Yushiro began to steer their ship Mai realized that they were indeed going to fight them. Worry seized her and she barely was able to force herself to take out her pummeling stick in preparation. She felt like Yushiro and her were going into this alone for when she looked behind her she didn't see Haru or Buck. Where were they? Then again, they could have been obscured because of all the sweat that was dripping into her eyes from her worry and blocking her vision from the salty sting.

A man stepped up to the railing of the other ship as soon as their's was close enough. He immediately seemed to recognize and know Yushiro. Mai watched and realized that this was the man that had killed her Captain's parents. They had found him so soon?

Yushiro immediately began to attack him after making a declaration of being stronger than before. Mai hung back. She wasn't really a fighter. How was she supposed to help? She was still emotionally in a bad place from the last fight! Then again, the memory of what Buck had said hung in her mind.

The man used his Nakama to shield himself from Yushiro's blast. What a dispicable move! Mai couldn't believe that someone could be that terrible to their own comrades.

Mai nodded at Yushiro's call and prepared herself. There was one more guy left that hadn't been taken out by Yushiro's blast that jumped over onto their ship and ran toward Mai. Moving swiftly out of the way she avoided being slashed by the man's sword and rolled several feet before leaping back up. Using her momentum she struck out with her stick aiming at the man's head but he swiftly blocked it with his blade.

Yushiro and his old arch nemesise that had killed his parents were in a lightning fast fight. You could hardly see their swords and the clashed at least 60 times in a minute. Even though Yushiro was in a very focusing battle he could still notice what was going on, on his ship he saw someone in a hybrid devil fruit form climbing up on his ship. "Hey you ever there, can you do me a favor and help out my cook over there. If you do, i will give you as many apples as you like."

As he said that he also noticed that a girl snuck on his ship and went into the cabin. He sighed as he could not do anything about it. He went back to his fight and ws able to push the pirate back. He knocked his guard off and slashed across his chest. He knew it wouldn't be able to take him out so he jumped back a good 20 feet. Luckily, his ship was big enough to do it. He aimed his swords down towards the deck and went down on all fours and looked up with his red eyes. He was going to do it for the second time at full power. He charged at him and slammed his sword hilts into him and sent him flying above his own ship. Yushiro appeared above him and looked down with his swords about to stab him."Like i said before, I have gotten a lot stronger since back then. Your going to die here and now."

Yushiro came down and stabbed his sword into him and started going towards the ship with his swords stabbed into his enemy with a huge blast of energy hitting the ship already damaging it. When Yushiro stabbed and hit into the ship, it broke in half and started to crumble. Yushiro looked at the dead corpse with hatred. "Let your pitiful soul rest in peace." was all he said as he jumped onto his ship.

The last pirate in their crew was scared now. Yushiro just killed the captain, and there was also a devil fruit hybrid on board as well. He Was afraid and didn't know what to do except kill himself as last resort. So he did, and laughed while dying before cutting his own head off.

Yushiro walked up to his body and just shook his head. "This is the worst way for a swordsman to die." he said as he started walking towards Mai. "Hey Mai are you ok?" he said before looking at the devil fruit user. "Hey, you can come on board if you want. My name is Santoryu Yushiro, but you can just call me Yushiro, or just Yush for short." He said while completely forgetting about the previous girl who also snuck on board.

"Okay!" Sano said, hoisting himself over the side of the ship and sitting down. "I'm Sano Kaizo by the way," he said, taking bites out of his apple as he talked to the crew he'd just met. The apple was sweeter then all the others, mainly because it was the last one and those always tasted better to him. He ate it all the way to the core and briefly contemplated eating the seeds as well, but decided to just throw the core over the side of the ship. "Um...I know that I didn't really help out that much, but is the apple offer still open for me? Because I just ran out and I'll starve if I don't! The last time I ran out of apples, I lost all conciousness. When I woke up, the town I was in apparently got attacked by giant rams. And everybody was avoiding me for some reason. But they gave me all the apples I wanted after that!" Sano said happily, looking over the side of the boat. "Also, I kind of broke your ship a little. You guys don't mind right? Your crew has a shipwright doesn't it?"

The clanking of swords stopped. "Looks like the battle is over. I'm safe at least," Kate thought, before hearing a few voices on the ship:
"Hey, you can come on board if you want. My name is Santoryu Yushiro, but you can just call me Yushiro, or just Yush for short."

"Okay!I'm Sano Kaizo by the way."

It seems that whoever this ship belongs to, had just gotten themselves a new member. "If I get noticed, i'll get caught. This freaking kitchen is so small that it has no hiding spot!" Kate decided to put her swords on the table and camp there, hoping no one would come in. It was safe if she kept quiet. Feeling sleepy, Kate decided to sleep on the table.

"Clang!" Almost immediately as Kate lay on the table, she accidentally pushed the table and her swords dropped. The ship suddenly went all quiet and Kate heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen. "Dang I should have slept properly. Now I'm dead. That is, if the guy can kill me in the first place." Kate grabbed her swords and slashed through the kitchen, out in the open. There was a loud crashing sound and the whole kitchen was wrecked. Kate saw three people standing over there, looking at her.

"Oops, sorry." Kate smiled meekly at them.

Mai grinted her teeth together. The man she was up against was very fiecesome. Though she came close to laying a few blows with her pummeling stick, he evaded them with expertise. It was clear that this man was more knowledgable in the area of battle than Mai who had hardly ever fought besides those that refused to pay the bill in her restaurant.

Meanwhile, her captain was waged in a battle of wills against his arch nemesis. They were moving so fast that Mai couldn't even see them in detail. Then again, she didn't need to be looking that way anyhow. If she did, chances were she would drop her guard and be turned into a shishkabob in an instant.

The pink haired girl blocked the man's blade for the second time and strained against his might. She pushed forward with her pummeling stick in an effort to overpower him but was forced backward across the wooden deck of the ship a good two or three feet.

Then suddenly he relented. Mai didn't understand but struck him in the stomach quickly with her weapon. He let out a cry but something else seemed to be bothering him. Following where the man was looking, the cook soon learned why. His captain had been utterly defeated by Yushiro. Not only that but their ship was in ruins. In a creepy way the man looked at Mai, laughed crazily, and then proceeded to slash his own throat.

"I... I don't... Understand... "Mai said, flabbergasted as she watched his body limply fall to the ground. What had just happened? Horror struck her. Could she really be a pirate when it involved all of this constant violence? Shaking her head, Mai backed up not even noticing that her Captain had addressed her or the fact that someone else had appeared on the ship. Instead she immediately retreated for the kitchen and slammed the door behind her.

Leaning her back against the wooden door as a support, Mai proceeded to close her purple eyes and to try to calm her heavy breathing. Sweat poured down her face and she had started to cry. This sort of life was so much different! She didn't know if she could handle it!

Shakingly, not sure if she could even make it that far, Mai pushed herself forward and went to head for the frig to grab a glass of water. Instead she opened her eyes to see her kitchen completely in ruins. Everything was overturned including the table. The refridgerator itself was on its side. Pots and pans littered the floor.

"What... WHAT HAPPENED IN HERE," screamed Mai in utter shock.
