UnattachedSyphalia is unattached and is fairly free-spirited. She lives life to the fullest and enjoys just being herself. She cares little for what others think of her and lives by this rule. The only thing that matters is what she thinks of herself. This can cause her to care little for those she associates herself with now. Since she cares almost solely for herself she doesn’t find it worth dying for anybody. These tendencies have caused her to be rather tomboyish, she is not girly when it matters. Her free-spiritedness has clashed with her troubles about Jack Dancer and while she maintains some of the scars she has mostly come to terms with it.
LonerSyphalia does not like interacting with others and the few words she does say can be misunderstood often. She prefers to be alone, she is used to surviving on her own. This attitude has left her bad at making friends and lacking friends in general. It also explains her lack of empathy for others, tending towards blunt and brash statements. For those she does get close to, she can be quite the tease. With a general amusement with life and the simple faults of her friends she tends to poke fun at them. This is whether or not the friends find it amusing, she does not care what they think of the jokes she makes.
Personal CodeSyphalia has her own code of conduct as a warrior. While trying to abstain from too much violence she does enjoy fighting. She finds a fine line between having a killing intent and actually killing the person she fights. She is not so ruthless, she will generally try to forgo killing her enemy leaving them unconscious so she can easily walk away. As a swordsman she believes that to obtain a slash wound upon her back would be dishonorable and will face any enemy who challenges her generally.
ObservantSyphalia is someone who relies on her knowledge, skill and senses in battle. She lacks the brute strength that some of her colleagues have so relies on observing her enemy and her surroundings to overcome them. It is a style she believes is generally more successful than some of her former crewmates’ brute force combat styles.
ImpulsiveSyphalia is a smart person, she uses what information she had to make good decisions. That being said she can be very impulsive at times. She tends to make decisions on the spur of the moment. It can be against her better judgment but she does it anyways. It is a fault in her that she is very aware of but has yet been able to fix. She lives with it.
ConfidentSyphalia has grown confident. Through her travels, particularly through her clashing with Jack Dancer in the past she has grown confident in her abilities. She knows vaguely how strong she is and is more than willing to prove it when necessary. It is not however bravado. She is also aware of her bounty and takes a certain amount of pride in it, looking at it as a badge of honor.
Not-a-PirateSyphalia while deemed a pirate by the World Government does not truly consider herself one. She is more an independent at this point, she lives outside the law but does not take on what she considers pirate-like actions without good cause. She does what she has to, to survive. AppearanceSyphalia is often a discreet and unobtrusive sight upon the street. From the front she can look a bit unimpressive especially when she doesn’t care to be. Hidden by her clothing she is much more impressive, through training and constant fighting., she has become quite toned. Well-muscled arms and a 6-pack are hidden by her choice in clothing most of the time.She is sleekly formed and due to her short size she is often misconstrued as being slightly younger than she is. Perhaps the most interesting point of her is her reddish-brown eyes. In times of strong emotions they tend to flare up, brightening and glimmering a beautifully vibrant red.
Syphalia has a tendency towards thinner black clothing. While it changes depending on the climate and weather her clothing also tends towards darker colors. About as heavy as she goes in terms of clothing is black shirts of cotton and the like. She may wear a jacket over them but only in the roughest of cold weather. She prefers clothing that is neither too baggy nor too clingy against her own body. Below the waist she had a tendency for skirts in warmer weather and black slacks or capris in colder weather. Commonly she will have her Jolly Roger emblazoned upon her shirt whether it be on the back or on the sleeve. Apart from these she keeps a black bandanna with red stripes upon it and a chain with a red gem upon it. They are not worn all the time but they are more staple to her clothing than anything else.
Syphalia when she chooses is an intimidating sight. With her strong spirit she can exude the strength and confidence that are hers. Her eyes will be ablaze and she’ll seem to stand taller than usual and show the experience she’s gained over time and through years at large.

BlacksmithSyphalia is a skilled blacksmith. Specifically she specializes in the creation of swords, she is still looking for the right chance to create a weapon that she’ll lead to legendary status but for now her own sword is not of her own creation. Still she is a great forger of weaponry. Her work at the anvil and forge has also forged her body imbuing it with strength and an improved resistance to heat.
NavigatorSyphalia has been at sea for a while. She is capable at navigation via compass and map. With a log pose she’ll rarely go off course, though she is not adept at maneuvering some of the odder weather of the Grand Line and will make simple mistakes on occasion..
CookingSyphalia is a middling cook at best. Time spent alone at sea has taught her some basic tricks but she doesn’t really have a knack for it. Her food tends to turn out plain or over-seasoned never really just right.{Combat Skills}
Lightweight - Human Trait #1A small form and thin build have given her what would classify as a light body. This has made her quick on her feet and capable of longer jumps and faster movement than most. It also means when knocked back by any opponent she flies farther and faster into whatever she may crash into.
Heat Resistant - Human Trait #2Ages in the smithies surrounded by the blistering heat of furnaces made to melt metal and evaporate all else has given Syphalia an excessive resistance to heat and the chance to be burnt. Her body is so unfazed by heat that she basically can't tan anymore as her body doesn't even worry about producing melatonin to protect from burning.
Inhuman Stamina - Additional Trait #1Growing up as an orphan taken in by a blacksmith Syphalia also put in a lot of work. The hard work she found working at the smithy where she lived quickly grew her stamina to amounts where she was able to work long hours alongside her adoptive tutor from the age of just nine. She is easily capable of outlasting many of her opponents.
Inhuman Dexterity - Additional Trait #2Practice and training, form and foundation are what formed Syphalia's fighting style. As she improved her own abilities her control has improved as well. Fine detail and precise control are things she's regained in her style. She believes this dexterity is what has given her access to her Hiken techniques.
Inhuman Strength - Additional Trait #3Her original strength was gained from years working the forges and smithies. While this made her powerful it has only been more reinforced through her practicing of strength-based swordsmanship as well as her many battles and fights. Her strength far exceeds what one might expect of one of her size and stature.
Improved Eyesight - Additional Trait #4Syphalia's eyes have sharpened with practice. She is able to make out small details at quite the distance now. But more than that they have darkened with time but also with the awakening of Kagemantou. This allows her to look at blinding lights without having to shy away her gaze.
Electrical Resistance - Additional Trait #5Syphalia after her fight with the Tempestarii has gained a natural resistance to electricity trying to enter her body. She can take most shocks in stride barely bothered by them. If she gets hit directly by lightning, the odds might change a bit. Trained Haki - 300 X-PoinzSyphalia has gone through full training in Busoshoku Haki. She is well enough trained to consistently imbue haki into parts of her body or upon her blade. She is even capable of vulcanizing her Haki into the black hardening to guard against attacks or strike back. When using Busoshoku Haki Syphalia's attacks increase in power and allows her the ability to damage DF Users through their unnatural defenses.
Advancements{Kenbunshoku Haki}
Trained Haki - 300 X-PoinzSyphalia has gone through full training in Kenbunshoku Haki. She is able to use it to feel the presence of those around her in a fairly large vicinity. She is capable of predicting attacks with fairly solid accuracy. Her accuracy improves and her predictions become more precise and reliable the strong the killing intent her enemy is giving off. Syphalia expresses a minor preference for Kenbunshoku Haki over Busoshoku Haki.
Advancements-Fighting Styles-{Hotaru Waza}
A-Rank Sword Combat1700 X-Poinz (500 X-Poinz)
The Hotaru Waza, or the Firefly Style is a fluid combat style. Using her speed and mobility combined with Syphalia's strength she flits in and out of combat dancing on a dangerous line to release quick bursts split between powerful single attacks relying on her strength and swift attacks relying on speed and dexterity. Wearing down her enemies with speed and power she looks to put in damage while dodging out of the way of counterattacks.
Aspects
Kitsuneso: The Fox Claws, through swift and powerful motions of her arm Syph is capable of generating 'flying slashes' which cut apart him enemy at a distance. She is often caught using these as she dodges out of the range of her opponents and before returning into the fray.
Hakairyoku: The Power of Destruction, skill, strength and precision combine in Syphalia to give her destructive power. She is capable of cutting through stone or steel with relative ease, split objects much larger than her sword with ease. Combined with her Legendary Weapon, this gives her excessively dangerous levels of attack power.
Hiken: The Concealed Sword, through her skill and precision Syphalia is capable of manipulating light with her blade. Slicing through light itself, the sword bends light around the blade.
Hotaru Rinne: Firefly Reincarnation, an advanced version of the Hiken aspect, Hotaru Rinne allows Syphalia the ability to generate light as well as harness ambient light. She gathers and imbues it upon her blade, and the blade gives off blinding light and heat. But its true power is in its ability to create devastating light-based energy attacks.

Rank 4 Ō Wazamono Blade - 700 X-Poinz (350 X-Poinz)The seventh blade to have been given the title of Ō Wazamono, Kurohime is yet another cursed blade known for a spiteful wrath upon which it grasps its owners. A long katana its blade is exceptionally long at 2'8" (81 cm). The hilt adds upon it an additional 10" (25 cm). The blade curves at an elegant angle turning out to be just slightly straighter than the usual katana. Its whole body from tip to hilt is a pitch black with slivers of lightly tinted gray making wavy patterns along the backbone of the weapon. Despite its age and use the blade is unmarred by nicks or grooves. Only the hand guard, with its ornate floral lily patterns show the true sign of use. Scratches have torn away its former golden luster revealing the steel beneath, three leaves off of two different lily patterns have fallen through leaving gaps in it. The hilt is equally unmarred as a black ironwood material wrapped in a black fabric that clings to skin. There is no embroidery upon it save for four silver knobs through which the weapon is supposed to be gripped. Kurohime is known for its loving care of its owner so long as it is the only blade one owns, otherwise it embodies the warning "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."
Kurohime when used for the first time is off-putting. Like a tsundere(or a cold tundra) she is a harsh blade to learn with an extremely unnatural center of balance. Using her requires an excessive level of finesse to keep the edge moving effectively and unhindered. It also requires constant practice, the balance of the blade being so unlike any other weapon it can quickly become unwieldy for a sporadic user. However while mastered one will find Kurohime a superb blade. The strange balance of her gives the weapon the feeling of being unexpectedly light, promoting swift movement that can allow a proper user to dance circles around blades of a similar size. Used correctly the wielder will find themselves in control of a powerfully fast blade. But without the necessary practice it feels unwieldy and can often seem blunt. This unnatural balance has led to the blade being called a spiteful weapon, giving favor to those who treat her well and feeling useless in the hands of those who don't put in the time.
More disturbing however is the supposed bloodthirstiness of the weapon. Kurohime's unmarred blade is said to be due to the blades enjoyment of its owner's blood. Its former users have passed down the legend that the blade seems to suck blood from the hand which grips it and uses it to repair itself. This has often been used to explain the dark maroon blood stains that seem to coat the hilt after use. In reality the hilt itself has a hidden waviness to it caused by slight upturns in the surface leading to sharp edges which make minute cuts in the users hand bleeding them out. Finding the proper handhold is tantamount to continued use of the weapon unless a user wants to find the blade latching itself onto their hand forever.
Qualities{Kokutō}Kurohime is one of the black blades. Made from the superior black metal, it is excessively durable. This makes it very reliable at withstanding powerful strikes and holding against the strain of attacks that would threaten to shatter another sword. It is if anything a very trustworthy sword to have defending you.{Unnatural Balance}Kurohime has an extremely strange sense of balance due to its construction. Requiring a high level of finesse it is hard to use feeling heavy and unwieldy in unpracticed hands. However when understood the balance really helps the weapon. It makes the weapon carry momentum very well making it feel relatively light despite its actual weight.
Curse{The Scorned Blade}Kurohime has long been known to be a cursed blade last of the blades of Maga Kuramoto. It was forged from a fallen piece of black skysteel mixed with regular steel and forged in the legacy of the smiths of Wano, it is the greatest blade known to be created by Maga.
Made for one who was then a princess of Wano with whom Maga was engaged, it ended up in the hands of a consort of the sword smith. Foolish Maga claimed to have had the weapon stolen, the princess was quick to see through his lie and in the night came down upon Maga and his consort as they lay in bed. That night the blade tasted its first victims as in the hands of the princess it ran through both its creator and its owner as they lay together in their bed. That night it drank the blood of those whoo mishandled it and took on a personality not far from its first wielder.
From there it passed down the line of Wano for many a generation until finally leaving it on an expedition. There it fought battle after battle, going from owner to owner, tasting the blood of each and every one of them. Leaving the New World the blade finally made it into the hands of a royal guard captain in Kuraigana. A swordsman of some reknown there it lived out its life until at the end of the terrible war fought upon the island it met another, a captain of the revolution. The resulting duel pit the two against each other and in the end neither lived. Thus with the destruction of the country Kurohime was lost to human knowledge and history.

Rank 2 Tech - 125 X-PoinzA Soru-like move which she picked up while fighting the Monks of the underground temple. It allows her to move at the speed of Soru. Her high speed movement allows her to disappear from vision and reappear at her end point. One might be able to see her sword moving with her.
Juupo
Rank 2 Tech - 125 X-PoinzWith a powerful kick Syphalia is able to hit the air hard enough with her foot to gain momentary traction jumping off the air as if it were solid ground.

Aspect - KitsunesoWith a swift flick of her arm Syphalia is capable of creating an air slash which cuts through her enemies.

Variation - HikouzumeFlicking her arm up she whips her sword forward in a sword-drawing like motion. The swing is so fast it creates an air slice about the length of her blade that flies through the air in a crescent form. This slash is powerful enough to slice through harder substances with relative ease.

Aspect - KitsunesoJumping into the air Syphalia uses Juupo to have herself rotate quickly about while swinging her blade. This causes a rain of flying slashes to descend in an arc down below her.
Juuzume ~ Cross Claw

Aspect - KitsunesoSyph quickly whips her blade across her opponent's chest before bringing it above her head and executing a downward slash with two hands which creates a short air slash that moves forward slightly but mainly down towards the ground.

Aspect - KitsunesoSlashing forward she twists her hand as she does causing her to create a circular whirlwind of air which shoots forward cutting everything in its path. It looks like a mini-tornado moving horizontally from her sword.
Kowa Arashi ~ Demolition Storm

Aspect - Kitsuneso, Hakairyoku
Variation - SenpuukiSyphalia pulls her blade back twisting her whole body and then untwists letting loose a massive whirlwind of air strong enough to slice through steel and carry off men. Its a powerful wind that lasts for a short while before it dissipates.

Aspect - HakairyokuA drawing technique, she sheaths her blade and concentrates. In an extremely fast movement her sword is drawn and resheathed. She is capable of cutting even steel with this. (Requires consent from members to cut weapons)

Aspect - Hakairyoku
Variation - I SeimeiA drawing technique made for slicing large objects in half. Syphalia draws her sword. As she does she makes a giant slash capable of splitting large objects in two. This of course depends on the material said object is made out of, the tougher it is the less likely she'll actually succeed in fully splitting said item.

Aspect- Kitsuneso, HakairyokuPulling her sword back behind her, Syphalia's uses Burikka to appear near instantly right in front of her enemy and swings her sword up across at them. The slash has both speed and power behind it. Her blade will cut through metal with relative ease. And the speed at which the blade slices through the air creates a delayed crescent blade of compressed air which follows Syphalia's blade across her enemy's chest. This attack often appears as a white wave of wind marred by spraying blood when it contacts flesh.
Daihibi ~ Great Rift

Aspect - Kitsuneso, HakairyokuPlacing both hands on her sword she raises it above her head and swings down. With her strength and speed she slashes straight down upon her opponent. This slash cuts through harder substances with ease while generating a large air blade crescent which angles itself forward and downward stretching. If unchallenged the air blade will cut into the ground itself leaving a long rift in the earth a few meters long and a meter or so deep.

Aspect - HikenThree extremely fast slashes one from above down followed by two one coming up diagonally from the left and the same on the right. With her sword already invisible it is basically impossible to see the attacks.

Variation - Yami no SansekaiInstead of doing a direct attack the three sword slashes come as compressed air blades, like her sword cutting through light themselves they are invisible to the naked eye.

Hotaru Kenpo is Syphalia's hand-to-hand combat style. Syphalia unlike her swordsmanship is a very in your face martial artist. She tends to keep fairly close to her opponent relying on her reflexes and other skills to keep her from getting beat down too hard. In return she is able to fire off quick and powerful punches and kicks to try and overwhelm her opponent from the inside. While Syphalia prefers punches, her kicks are actually what she is better at, as it better makes use of her agility and mobility.

Atsui Dasu: Burning Blows, As Syphalia fights, her spirit often manifests as fire emergent upon her limbs. The fire rages hotter with her will empowering her attacks with a fiery aspect to them. She generally calls these techniques Keika.Oruken: Break Fist, Syphalia is able to harness her strength into powerful physical blunt blows that are capable of breaking through hard substances with relative ease.

Aspect - OkurenBased on a similar motion to Danshira, Syphalia if necessary uses Burikka to move close. Then in a similar motion to Danshira she whips her elbow up slamming it in. The strike has the power to break through hard substances.

Variation - IkariBased on the movement of Ikari, Syphalia harnesses the spirit fire of her Kagemantou about her arm. Swinging her elbow up she follows it up by unlocking the elbow and swinging her fist up into her target. This movement causes the hellfire to swing forward and wash upon the target.

At times of greatest concentration, Syphalia's spirit manifests behind her as the silhouette of her figure with gleaming red eyes. The spirit hangs upon her like a cloak of cobwebbed shadows. Her hair seems to elongate, the dark spiritual strands following along her actual hair but continuing onwards when it stops. This spirit manifested protects Syphalia like invisible armor absorbing some of the damage from every hit she takes, the black aura-like substance swathing her rippling as it is hit. That same ethereal force surrounds her blade, its dark essence seeming evaporate off the blade like a dark flame sparking into the night sky. This aura makes the sword seem longer and empowers it with a burning heat that sears the opponents which it hits.

Variation - AkakazeAfter performing a first Akakaze, Syph whips her arm back down completing the cross. The two crescent blades of air slightly delayed from each other slice forward in an X shape. Both attacks are imbued with the hellish heat of her sword and have a dark aura to them.

-Family-Kago Shuuchi Blacksmith Sponsor - Status Unknown : Presumed Alive - Kago took her in when she was young and incapable of doing more than scraping by to make a living. For this she is eternally grateful to Kago. He is also taught her the basics of her art and swordsmanship. She has long since left him behind but she still maintains fond memories of the old geezer.-Friends-Arlen Baker Crewmate - Alive - Syphalia's closest confidant. Among everyone in the world he is closest to her and she to him. They've spent so long together there is a deep underlying understanding and trust between the two. He alone shares a room with her and can read most of her intentions even without Haki.
Shoguns Crewmates - Alive - Syphalia is quite close with all her current Shoguns crewmates. Generally closeness is dependent on length of time on the crew but she makes some effort to get to know them all. Perhaps closest of all are Gyato, Kitty, and Del who have been with her the longest. But she gets on quite well with Lilin. Though she thinks her an idiot at times. She'd go out of her way to protect or help any of them.
Pierce Former Crewmate - Status Unknown : Presumed Alive - Syphalia did not get to know Pierce well during their time on the Dancing Blades together. When they split off there were no harsh feelings. After a little travelling with him she found him a little annoyingly whiny. But otherwise counts him among her 'friends' so to speak. She last saw him on Inlet Grove Stop.
Uzuki Garuda Former Travelling Partner - Status Unknown : Presumed Alive - Syphalia doesn't know much about Uzuki, only that he seems to transform into a monster at night. She has no real thoughts about him but regards him as a decent fighter. After travelling with him she didn't gather any major opinions about him. She last saw him on Inlet Grove Stop.
Shah Ki Former Haki Trainer - Status Unknown : Presumed Alive - Syphalia has a good relation with Shah as far as she can tell. He's a bit troubling to deal with but otherwise he was an interesting teacher and she's happy that she met him.
Former Dancing Blade Pirates Former Crew Mates - Statuses Unknown : Presumed Alive - As former nakama, in general she holds them in a positive light. She is willing to help them if they request it and it doesn't take her out of her way. She doesn't know where the majority of them have gone however.
-Foes-Jack Dancer Former Captain - Status Unknown : Presumed Alive - Unlike her other former crewmates, Syphalia doesn't hold Jack in very high status. She is rather annoyed with Jack for how they departed from each other. She respects his ability and his strength but judges him closer to an enemy than a friend. She used to enjoy teasing him, though how they'd interact now is unknown to her.
{History}
Youth (0-7)Syphalia was originally named Lisanna, the child of lesser nobles living in Alubarna. Her youth was marked by the expected very proper upbringing. For most of her earlier years she rarely left the house and mostly just studied. Her time in the house made her naive and oblivious to the dangers and the problems of the outside world. For what rare events she was allowed to go to she stayed quiet and to the back. Held from truly making choices of her own she tended to wish to learn of the outside world. That satisfaction only came on the rare occasions her parents brought her out to visit other countries on the different islands of the Grand Line.
Unfortunate Tragedy (7)On one of those trips to Water 7 their ship was attacked by pirates. The pirates rampaged through the ship slaughtering passengers left and right. In the midst of the massacre Syphalia managed to fall overboard onto a 'raft' which was really just a large wooden board that had been knocked over the ship in the confusion. Falling onto the raft she hit her head causing her to gain retrograde amnesia forgetting all about her past life. The raft floated away from the ship and out to open sea.
Orphan's Life (7-8)From then on after making it to an island she grew up as a youngster she stealing and robbing for food and drink. While originally she wasn't very successful slowly but surely she gained the skills necessary to pull off her small heists. As she traveled she lodged about in many different places mostly of ill-contempt. She never stayed in a place too long, without anyone to protect her or a source of income she could not afford it. Instead she often left within a few months taking what food and clothing she could. It was a harsh lifestyle, but she was able to pull it off because of her often unimpressive looks, simply moving under the radar of most people.
A Blacksmith's Apprentice (8-16)Around the age of 8 she came upon the sword smith Kago Shuuchi and made friends with him. He took her in after a little pleading on her part. Originally she had intended on leaving after a few months but her mind was changed. Her interest in his work as a swordsmith convinced her to give it a chance. Marking a major change in her life she ended up apprenticing herself under Kago. Staying with him for many a year afterwards she ended up learning the trade herself. Alongside the trade Kago taught her basic swordsmanship. He was not a great swordsman, but his original teachings aided in her understanding of the craft which she learned and refined on her own.
A Journeyman's Life (16-18)After many year's under Kago she finally decided she needed to start her own business and left. As a parting gift she obtained her first sword, the katana Kitasha which she would wield for many a year afterwards. Heading to Loguetown she started her business and for a year or so she was successfully running Syphalia's Swords. But after a while other sword shops slowly began to eat up her shop's momentum and eventually customers stopped coming. Seeing how the wind was blowing she shut her business down and sold what swords she had left to the marines. Gathering the last of what belonged to her she packed up and left. In her travels she still smithed swords for a little extra income but she never really settled down after that.
