No More Messing Around! [MistrBubels/Clyde]

Rain Belle stepped into the bar, noting the quiet creak of her boot landing on the old wooden planks that made up the floor, and looked up. Not many people in the small, cramped place really noticed her entering, or her new-found friend, Clyde, but the bartender and a few scruffy looking customers stared at her, but the customers quickly turned their gazes back to whatever dark drink they were drinking, but the bartender kept his gaze on them, even as she took her seat. Staring back at him a bit questionably, she ordered something for herself and watched Clyde, not really noticing if he ordered something or not. After that, the bartender finally stopped staring at her, but she still felt like she was being watched. 

Having a sip of her drink, she turns to Clyde, giving a bit of a smirk, swirling the drink around in her cup. Rain glanced back at the men who had turned an eye to her earlier, and only one of them seemed to be peeking occasional glances at her, but otherwise, everyone was minding their own business. Turning back to Clyde, she started saying something, before she heard the words 'Pirate' and 'Base'. Quickly turning her attention to the noise, she began to pick up some more words, most of it being mixed in with the froth of whispers and grumbles that were emanating from all corners of the room, but she could pick up 'South', but other than that, she was clueless. She turned her head to Clyde, tilting it down slightly, and whispering him a quick "Did you hear that?" before turning her head back to her drink, keeping an ear out for his response.

 Clyde looked back at Rain, and smiled. He got out his notepad, then wrote down strategies, and notable things for what the group of people were talking about. He started small talk with Rain to make himself seem less suspicious. He pulled this off flawlessly, and only Rain saw through the small talk. Clyde told Rain to wait here, and walked to the restroom with his notepad left on the table for Rain to look at.     
    Clyde had come up with another brilliant idea. Clyde purposely tripped on the chair of a person from the group. This gave him the perfect timing to check for anything on the leader of the group as he got up. He noticed the leader's peculiar metal shoulder as he gets up. Clyde then noticed he was on thin ice. He sincerely apologizes, then laughs it off saying it happens to everyone. He hopes the leader takes no note of this incident, and Clyde enters the bathroom with satisfaction.
    Clyde walks into the bathroom, and sees no one there. He starts running more strategies, and came up with a basic yet reliable plan. He gets out of the bathroom, and doesn't dare look over at the table. He felt like he was walking a tight rope, and that one slip up will lead to his demise. Clyde walks back to Rain, and smiled. "Time to go." Clyde says in a relaxed tone of voice.

Rain looked over at her friend after she asked him if he heard, and by the way that he started scribbling furiously on his notepad, she knew that he had heard as well. Continuing a pointless conversation with Clyde, she watched as he got up and left, then she took a sip of her drink, trying to look at the notepad as discreetly as she possibly could, given the situation. Watching as he tripped and fell, she thought that he was just being an idiot. “Clyde... Get out of there...” She mumbled into her mug, leaning back in her chair. Messing with her hair in the back, she began thinking. If there were pirates nearby, that could also mean that there was a ship, maybe treasure... Maybe they would have a million beris... She giggles a bit insanely to herself, asking for another drink. As the bartender gave her a questioning look, she urged him on, taking a big swig of it and giggling again.


She would have so. Many. Beris.



Giggling again, she noticed that the men at the table were staring at her, and she quickly fixed her composure, watching as Clyde walked out of the bathroom, telling her it was time to go. Quickly finishing her drink, as it hit her stomach, it felt like a punch to the face, and as she calmly walked outside with her brown haired crewmate, she stumbled and grabbed onto his shoulder. “I should not of had two...” She says, but then stands up again. “I'll be fine, though. So. What's... What's the plan?”

Clyde smiles looking at the pictures on the notepad. The first picture has the yarn and cat making a map of the base, and the second picture is saying that we should go beat them up in the afternoon indicated by the position of the sun in the back round. This plan was very well thought out, and simple. If you tried to sneak in any other way the enemy would understand you came with a little bit of planning and smarts. If you walk right in the enemy might get intimidated, and may think you are a total idiot. The captain always sits outside of his base in the afternoon, and this makes it easy to get down to the point. If you kill the captain the crew wouldn't dare to fight. The invaders will then get away with the treasure using the least effort. The only problem will be getting the treasure out if it is in large amounts. If that happened, then the invaders should get other people to help. If other people did offer their services then they will want a split of the treasure, and the invaders may end up with a smaller amount of treasure unless they force people to help.
    Clyde explained the entire story in detail to Rain.

Rain snickered, since she knew he didn't really have any plan, but then he started explaining it to her, leaving her speechless. "Clyde..." She said, running a hand through her hair and stopping, "You're the smartest stupid person I've ever met." Turning her head away from him, she locked her eyes on the dock that their small, rickety boat sat at. Getting on board said boat, the girl began to get armed. She pulled up her long sleeved shirt, sliding the her daggers into her holsters, and pulling down her sleeves again. She then slides a sword into each holster at her side, in case that she would need to fight one on one with one of the pirates. Rain then sits down, beginning to mix a few chemicals, and smirked, pouring the fluid into a perfume bottle, and screwing on the cap carefully and tightly, before slipping it into her pocket, careful to make sure it doesn't go off in there. Rain then, after getting her weapons and getting ready, picks up a small cage from the ground, and pulls her small maltese tiger, Storme, gently holding it and petting it, cooing and telling it little words as it snuggles into her nose, making her giggle. 

Rain gently put her pet on her shoulder, and there Storme sat, gently playing with and nibbling on her hair occasionally, but otherwise just looking around, squeaking and purring quietly. "So." Rain said, standing up, and getting off the dock, the flowing, gentle wind giving her an appearance of someone who knew what they were doing, and who was sure of themselves, and couldn't lose. Smiling and putting a hand on one of her hips, carefully flipping her hair without knocking off her small companion, and cracking her knuckles, she grinned at Clyde. "What now, mastermind?"

"We run in there and kick his butt in broad daylight, then return as heroes." Clyde said happily.
Clyde started to freak out when he realized that his journey could be over quickly. Stress grew in his body, but he wont quit. Clyde started gearing up.
    The two both walked out of the ship calm and ready. Clyde's eyes wandered around to a little girl who was crying all alone, and Clyde decided to help her.
"What's the matter, did you lose something?" Clyde asked interested.
"I did lose something!" The girl responded calmly.
"And what might that be?"
"My parents...to the meanies" The girl said frowning close to tears.
"I will get them back." Clyde said boldly, and the girls face brightened up.
     Clyde reached for the picture of his parents in his pocket. His hand stopped cold as soon as he remembered the pirate captain picking something off the ground at the place Clyde fell and pocketing it. A cloud blocked the sun over Clyde and a shade appeared over him. His eyes had hatred shooting out of them like spears. He tried to run straight towards the pirate's base, but was stopped when Rain grabs his shoulder firmly.

Rain watched as Clyde talked to the little girl, feeling an odd feeling in her stomach. The feeling of pain. Exhaling quietly, and gripping her stomach by crossing her arms over the area, the girl closed her eyes, remembering.

It was warm outside. There was a breeze. The entire town smelled of fresh baked bread, and it had the feel of a new beginning, and a new start. The day was perfect. At least, at first. Rain Belle, age 10, was standing outside of her father's bakery, as usual, handing out bread to everyone that passed, but she didn't notice what was different today. Everyone was tense, and everyone walked at a brisk pace, especially those who were known as marines, or known as pirates. Although nobody that passed her shop were exactly bad, that still didn't stop what happened next.

The first thing Rain heard was the scream of someone who had just thanked her a minute ago, and she saw the man missing an arm, a marine holding a sword that was colored a sickly red, still clutching a piece of bread in his other hand. Horrified, Rain was about to call out, before her father grabbed her and pulled her inside. Whatever happened next to Rain was a blur, and she couldn't remember it, all she could remember from that point was her, tears dripping down her eyes, confusion, and her father crying and yelling, and next her mind greeted her with was the sight of her mother... Her mother... 

Rain snapped out of the memory quickly, as Storme bit her ear gently, causing her to smile slightly, and, quickly blinking away the tears in her eyes, and looking at Clyde. He suddenly looked different, and she could tell he was going to do something stupid. Grabbing his shoulder firmly, she grips her hand, hard. "Clyde." She said firmly, narrowing her eyes and asserting herself as captain, "Stop. I know you want to run and kill that captain. But you need to try and think this through, first."

"Rain, I am afraid peace and flowers isn't an option here."
"Whats your plan? to go hug some trees and pretend this guy didn't steal her parents and the only picture of my parents I had left!" Clyde said bitterly.
    Clyde looks around to see people staring and runs away from Rain as fast as he could ignoring her words. Tears streamed down his face, and rage took the place with each step. He imagined what horrible things the captain is doing with that picture he kept of his parents. Clyde ran faster, and rage overflowed his body. At this point Clyde was just a pile of hatred with arms, and legs.
Very few things could handle the fire burning in his eyes. Clyde punched his dial along the way getting his charges ready. He turned the corner to see the gate ahead of him, and his scowl was horrific. Clyde had blood lust burning through his soul, and all of it was aimed at a man sitting ten meters away. Clyde pushed open the gate, then made direct eye contact with the captain as he drew his sword. The captain looked at Clyde, and smiled. The captain saw the perfect chance to have some fun for once.

Rain sighed, frustrated with her stupid, enraged crew-mate, began grumbling to herself. Looking around at all the people watching her, she hisses at them, waving them away. Stomping, Rain started going in the direction that she saw Clyde headed, and could also tell by the stunned people just looking in a direction. Sighing as she changed it to a run, she could feel the tightening of her stomach, and began to remember some more.

Her mother. Yes, her mother. She remembered her that morning, cheery as always, feeding her daughter, and rushing around, as always, getting ready to go out for an errand. She didn't really notice it then, but she remembers that her eyes were bright and shining, and her hair looked extra lustrous, but as an immature kid, Rain didn't notice. But, the next time Rain saw her mother, she was on the street, crumpled into a ball, and bleeding.

Not wanting to remember, Rain tried battling the thoughts with another, about something not as bad but it didn't work, and the memory hit her hard, like a ton of bricks, but worse, and it almost made her collapse.

There was a marine fighting a pirate, and, maybe confusing her with one, he stomped on her waist, breaking it like a bug underneath a boot. 

Shaking her head out, she let the tears fall from her eyes, as her mind assaulted her with memories, until suddenly, she could see, and the pain was gone, and she was at the pirate's base, and she could see Clyde, most likely about to do something stupid. "Oh, Clyde..." She whispered to herself, picking up her cat, "You can't face them alone." 

Drawing her swords and walking at a medium pace, she stopped next to Clyde, nodding at him, and giving him a smirk, looking at the captain as well. "We heard you stole someone." She said, audibly, in a tone that she could be easily heard, "We're going to have to take them back now."

Clyde slammed the gate shut in front of Rain's face.
"Stay out of this Rain." Clyde said with his hatred eating away at him.
Clyde ignored Rains yelling at him. He looks at the captain, and prepares himself.
"Give it your best shot. A shrimp like you couldn't put a dent into me. Go back to your parents, and be smart for once." The captain said overly sure of himself.
"Give it my best shot huh?" Clyde said with a devious smile.
    Clyde runs towards the captain who is still sitting, and is getting madder by the minute after being treated like a kid. Clyde jumps up near the captain, and uses the impact dial on the back of the captain's head. Clyde smirks as the captain's face crashes into the ground under him.
"Not so sure of yourself now huh?" Clyde says calming down, and finding his composure.
"Sorry about that Rain I let my anger consume me, and was an idiot." Clyde says walking to the gate.
"I don't know what came over me." Clyde says getting close to the gate as the captain rises up off the ground.
   Clyde goes to unlock the gate, and is suddenly stopped when the captain runs at Clyde at a very fast speed. Clyde goes for a dodge, but is too late, and the stab that was meant for his heart went into his shoulder. Things got fuzzy fast, and he took one last look at Rain, and grabbed her hand as he fell to his knees.
"Rainnnn....help." Clyde said as blood poured from his shoulder. He passed out, and laid on the ground with blood pouring down his chest.

Rain sighed, relieved at the fact that Clyde regained his senses, then her eyes widened, and she called for him to watch out, but was too late, as the captain stabbed him in the shoulder, some of the blood spraying from his wound onto her, then she watched as it trickled down her chest. Staying quiet, she looked at the captain, the side of her mouth twitching into a smirk, as she jumped at him, quickly, and, twirling her swords, quickly slashed him across the chest, jumping back right after. She twirls her blades idly as the captain wipes away the blood quickly, her cut being nothing more than a scratch. "Bitch..." he grumbles, stepping closer to her, and quickly slamming his palm across her temple, making the entire world go black.

"... Grand line..."

"... Slaves..."

Rain awoke suddenly, feeling as if she had a bad dream, then drooped her head over as she felt restricted in her hands and arms. Turning her head, she noticed her hands were in handcuffs, that had a small keyhole in them. "Clyde!" She hissed across the room, kicking the floor. As she waited to see if he would respond, she feels her stomach constrict.

Storme.

"Where's Storme!? She whined to herself, looking around the room rapidly. Sighing, relived, she saw the tiger in a small cage, unconscious, but she could see it's little chest puffing, signaling that she was still breathing. Sighing of releif, she turned her attention back to Clyde, awaiting his response.

Clyde woke up feeling like he was hit by a train. He was so sore, and tired. He saw Rain a few feet away, and heard something. He opens his eyes, and his memory reminds him of the horrors he faced. He quickly checks his shoulder to find it all bandaged up. He then recognizes the sound he heard to be Rain calling him. Clyde greets her and grins, he then thinks quietly to himself. Clyde looked around for tool he could use to free them both, but found nothing that was within his reach. He finds that all his weapons were gone too.
"Hmmmm, maybe I could rip my hands off, but then how will we escape then? I wouldn't be able to use them to unlock Rain's handcuffs." Clyde said to himself.
    Clyde sat there brainstorming for a long time, then figured it out. He had a plan to argue, and make a lot of noise to bring someone down, then trip them into Rain. Who will then kick them in the head thus knocking them out. We will surely find something on them. Clyde felt confident in this "last ditch effort plan." He got up and shared the entire story to Rain, and started feeling calm and ready.

Rain listened as Clyde told her his plan, and she nodded slightly, agreeing. He said that they should try to make a noise, to fool a guard or someone to come in that had keys, so they could try to knock him out and take them, and free themselves. It was a good plan. It sounded good to her, at least. Closing her eyes, she sighed, inhaling, exhaling, then began screaming bloody murder about Clyde being a disgusting rodent, and started kicking her feet on the ground, rattling the chains constricting her wrists, and overall making the loudest ruckus that she could with the scarce materials she had at hand. Or, at foot, for that matter.  "Hey! Shut up!" The pirate stationed at their small prison yelled at the two of them, slamming his fist against the door, and growling. This just caused the small woman to flail about and make even more noise, the mans face turning bright red as he kicked the door. "Don't make me come in there and kick your asses!" He yelled at them, putting a hand on the door in the way of a threat.

Little did he know, he was about to fall right into their trap.

"And we wouldn't be here right now if you just killed the captain. I already weakened him. Is this so much to ask for a tree hugger?" Clyde yelled.
Clyde thought to himself the plan was working well, and they would be free soon if they kept this up. The crew member's face looked menacing, but it was to late to quit now. Clyde started sweating as he saw the crew member open the door, and draw a sword. Fear danced inside his body, and sweat drizzled down his cheek. Clyde was closer and close to trembling with each step the crew member took. It was too late to turn back now, so Clyde readied himself. The crew member ran directly at him, and was ready to stab me to death. The plan had changed now, because Clyde never thought that he would be armed and run directly at one of us. Clyde thought fast, and got ready to kick like a mule.
"It's over now. I don't care if my boss will hate me for this. I have had enough of you guys!
The crew member is just about to slice Clyde's head off when Clyde kicks the legs out under the crew member.
"Just what the doctor ordered." Clyde says with a sly smile.
Clyde quickly plants both feet into the crew members chest then flung the body backwards to Rain.

Rain's eyes widened as she saw the man run over to Clyde, and, about to attack him, chuckled as she heard him say some stupid pun, and then kick the body over to her. She made a face, and spun the body around with her feet, looking for a key or something similar. Grinning, she held the small key ring up to Clyde, and tried sliding it behind her, grabbing it with a free hand, then searching for the right key to her lock. “Well... Good job with that kick. Wasn't very elegant, though. You really have to work on your form.” Going from a smirk to making a face of horror, she looked at Clyde. “None of the keys fit.” 

Quickly, Rain pulled her hands free, and walked over to Clyde. “Kidding.” She gains her trademark smirk again, quickly unlocking her friends handcuffs. Rain stood up, and with a small grunt, reached up and unlocked Storme's little cage, pulling out the small blue tiger and whining softly. Petting the tiger, she saw a large, oval shaped bump on the poor things head, making her angry, and, with a growl, she looked around the cell, then kicked the knocked out pirate as hard as she could, giggling as she heard Storme let out a small 'mew'. Putting the little blue fur ball on her shoulder, she opened the door the pirate came out of, beckoning for Clyde to follow.
