(Shinku has my permission to use Rebecca)
“Heh! What’s up with you?” The white-cladded combatant grinned gleefully, liking the new expression he was receiving. His head tilted to the side, “Your eyes… they seem different.” As long as Pluto was facing him, the taller one didn’t even make eye contact with Rebecca who passed by and obediently headed off towards Kyou. Those violet eyes gave off a different atmosphere than a moment ago. Several heartbeats ago, ever since the brother was slashed, he had stopped running away like before. The biggest difference in his enigmatic eyes was that it lacked the fear that it once possessed, but there was something more to it than that.
“!” Unexpectedly, a fist within a few inches away from his face was thrown. Turning his waist and a half-step back, the armed one slipped out at the last split second. I nearly let my guard down. With a swing of his arm, his massive scythe swung across his body, covering a large chunk of range, but he had to then look down in order to glare at the boy crouching low while lunging at him.
At nearly no gap of distance, his right fist scooped up into an uppercut as he pushed off his near-squatting leg. The Berserker took a full step back with a quizzical expression pasted on his face for he had never seen the black-haired boy taking the offensive approach. Pluto’s overextended arm circled towards his opposite shoulder before jabbing out his elbow, supported by his other arm as he stepped forth.
The white-themed combatant swiveled on his foot, pivoting around to the side of his opponent. It’s not that my guard is down; it’s that he’s gotten faster. He swung his weapon diagonally downwards towards the back of his prey as a delighted smirk grew on his face, “HAH!”
Immediately squatting down, Pluto raised both arms concentrated to the upper left part of his head before taking the impact of the scythe’s pole-like handle with the his armored forearms, pushing him a meter away as his feet slid across the deck. By lowering my center of gravity, I can take his attack head on without being hurled away.
Even after blocking the assault, the weapon continued to pressure against him without retreating. As if to counter the fact that he could duck below the line of attack, the scythe struck at a new angle by diagonally swinging from below, much like an uppercut. This forced the boy to lean away as he was too stubborn to retreat his footing. Pivoting his foot outwards while anchoring himself, he unleashed a roundhouse kick at waist level, quickly blocked by the scythe’s vertical defense that shifted towards the side. The black metallic shin guards made the impact painless, but even a kick, his first time in this fight, failed as a surprise move. Tsk… there’s practically… no openings at all for me to target.
Using the butt-end of the scythe’s handle, the superior fighting thrust out a series of piercing stabs as if he was wielding a spear. Pluto backed off in a zigzagging manner. While parrying with his arms, he halted the barrage through the hooking of his wrist that led his hand to grasp onto the weapon. As his pupils glared at the corner of his eyes, he spoke without a hint of hesitance, “Berserker, if you attack me with the same moves so many times, even I’ll be able to anticipate it.”
A grin grew on the scythe-wielder’s face, “Is that right? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Then I’ll just step it up a notch!” With strength on a completely different level than before, the Berserker tossed his foe away with a shove of his weapon, and with a single leap, he closed the distance just like that. Even after tumbling across the deck, Pluto’s eyes widened by the scary sight of his foe already in front of him before being kicked back against a wall like a ragdoll. He has been holding back this much all along? I mean I knew he wasn’t attacking me at full force, but for him to have this much power…. All this time and I can’t even land a single hit on this guy. He’s gotten even faster and stronger than before.
His eyes glimpsed towards the spot where the lifeboat was once suspended, but Kyou still hadn’t left the darn ship. Tch… Rebecca is safe, but that redheaded idiot doesn’t know the meaning of escape. Damn him, I can’t hold out much longer. At this rate, I’ll faint from blood loss. My wound isn’t deep, but it’s wide.
“Get up… you’re not dead yet!”
