-The Storm before the Calm-
~Rae and Dante have escaped from the battle of Shivre Mountain where there secret marine division was ambushed by the enemy bandits and defeated. Along with Yuri and Ayumi, the four marines are heading toward the Grand-Line along the Calm Belt to take on their next mission. The memories of the recent battle still scar them mentally. Will these unfortunate marines be able to overcome the scars of battle in order to move on with their lives or will they fail before their adventure even started?~

“Soldier… You need to get back. Save as many as you can and get back to base.” Dante could hear the dying orders of their leader, Captain Haunter. “Mission aborted. Ret- *Cough* … Retreat. T-Tell everybody… Tell them to retreat.” Despite having completed his part of the mission, they had failed. The explosives failed to do any real damage apart blowing up their base. The bandits had already evacuated and placed themselves on the front-lines. The surprise attack was no longer a surprise but an ambush in the form of a well-planned counter attack. “Leave me be Dante, you have to get the others out of here. LEAD THEM!” Haunter cried out loud. The shout was powerful enough to kick Dante out of his slumber and back into reality. Ayumi said as she crouched down beside him. “You don’t look so good, not running a fever are you. It’s getting kinda chilly out here.” She said and without warning took the back of her hand to Dante’s forehead. “Reems, I think you should come inside now. Relax and ease your mind. You know it wasn’t your fault. There was nothing you could have done differently.” The energetic girl spoke rationally for once, trying to assure her cousin Remus Dante that he wasn’t to blame. Little did she know, it wasn’t guilt that was eating him away, it was frustration.
Leaning his head back, the marine lieutenant looked into the pleasant sky that stared down at him, mocking him with every passing moment of sunshine. Dante stared back, challenging it as his mind tried to recall his thought process at the time. Dante couldn’t quite put his finger on how the Rock Dragon Bandits had managed to figure all this out. Even at that moment in time when faced with the risk of death, Dante’s mind was busy trying to piece the puzzle together. He didn’t have all the pieces but what he did now know was that the only way this was possible was if there was a deceiver amongst us. Somebody had betrayed them and relayed information to the bandits. It was somebody who knew about the operation. It made sense. There would be no other reason for Haunter to act so cautiously in the first place. He had his suspicions right from the start.
It all made sense now. This was the reason the ‘Ghost’ Division was formed. There was somebody amongst the marine ranks, somebody situated at the Jreum Island Base who had some sort of affiliation with the Bandits. But what could it possibly be that a marine would want out of a bunch of mountain bandits. There was something about that island and those mountains. Definitely something. Those bandits were up to something and the marines were sanctioning it. Talk about being corrupt. It’s no wonder the Jreum Base is located so close by Shivre Mountain yet they refuse to do anything about them. His process of thought was interrupted as a familiar voice came by.
“Hey Reems, you ok?”
