[white]S[/white]everal hours passed by, but the girl was still lying on the beach - hands locked behind her head as to separate her ivory locks from the sand. There was something about the water's sound that was just so majestic to her. It was as if the sea were calling her. As the current pulled back and forth - waves crawling up onto land before retreating back into the vast ocean - it was like a hand gesturing for her to follow. She sure wanted to do it, too; only at this point in her life, that would be like suicide. Not that she didn't know how to swim. There was a time that she could, until that incident with the stupid pirate that crashed at her house no less than a year ago. Long story short, she found a sexy rambutan that turned out to be one of the Devil's Fruits. Planning on saving it at first, that pretentious man left her with no choice but to eat it, and now she was a devil, blessed with the power to... Shut you up? Cool. At least it would've been, if she weren't burdened by the heavier curse of the inability to swim. 'White-Haired Taylor' is what this young woman was called by most, but you better not let her hear you say that. 'Chiquita Pero Picosa' was another, less popular, name given to the girl, but you wouldn't understand why unless you called her 'White Hair' to her face.
Oli Bay always seemed to bring her peace, but the ebony girl knew she couldn't remain in her own little world forever. There were people struggling that needed her help, and she had her eyes set on a goal that was far from possible to achieve by just lounging around on the beach in her homeland. Truth of the matter was, Taylor needed a boat to get off the island, and although she belonged to one of the wealthiest families in the Ciudadela Queendom, asking her parents to purchase her a ship was a no-go. Despite proving to be capable of fending for herself time and time again, Mottie and Trinidad were adamant in believing the notion that their daughter needed her hand powdered all throughout life - if not for her age, then for her handicap of being blind in one eye. She was eighteen now, for Chrissake! Besides, being blind in her right eye didn't feel like it was much of a handicap at all! It gave her the coolest, most rugged look a tomboy could ask for! When wrapped in bandages, that is...
[white]"Like, I'unno what I'mma do, Lælia!"[/white] The feisty girl fumed. [white]"How am I supposed t'uh capture any pirates wit' no ship, 'n 'dey won' get me one?!"[/white]
For a 'Silent Woman,' Queen L. Taylor was pretty loud, even when she was talking to no one but her guns. Laid out in the sand parallel to the ebony girl - at six foot, one inch long - her sniper rifle was almost like another entity with a conscience. It dwarfed her in size only four inches shy of a whole foot, yet she toted the weapon like any brave man would dare; for even grown men felt a lump in their throat before pulling the Queen of All Rifles' trigger. Trippy feared nothing. She was as gutsy as they came, and was the type to die trying her heart out. It couldn't have been nothing other than a burning passion and great determination that would lead a lone girl to decide to become a bounty hunter in the golden age of piracy! The world would see soon enough that her goal was nothing to snort at, like all of the boys in Atzintli did.
[white]"Hm? What's 'dat...?"[/white]
White Hair sat up as her cocoa orb locked onto a spot on the horizon that grew bigger by the minute. A ship was finally approaching the island! Quickly reaching for her rifle, she rushed the scope up to her eye, zooming in a few clicks to get a better look at the sail the boat flew. [white]"A merchant ship,"[/white] the Silent Woman affirmed. She may have only had one eye, but it was the sharpest in the queendom. [white]"Aaaannnnd~,"[/white] her lips curled into an elated grin as she spotted the next detail; the one she was hoping for all along.
[white]"A black flag~!"[/white]
Pirates; And by the look of the direction they were traveling in, they were headed to the docks right around the poorest part of the island! Well, for most, it was the only part of the island safe to leave your boat if you were coming to visit Ciudadela's main attractions. Because of the queendom's lack of World Government and Marine involvement, not even the 'Wanted' worried about towing their boat to the main entrance. Taylor had a clear view of each head that roamed the deck of the unsuspecting pirate ship, however it'd conflict with her main goal to fire and spook anyone, now. She needed that vessel, also, if any of them had a bounty, the beli that they were worth.
[white]"Shiishiishii! Today's mah lucky day! If I hurry ova t'uh town, now, I might even make it in time t'uh catch 'em 'fore 'dey get off 'da boat! Let's go, Lælia!"[/white]
The white-haired young woman rose to her feet, slipping her sniper rifle into its harness on her back before running off to the city on the edge of the bay.
