With her friendly fowl tucked safely under arm, Kallie blazed down the city streets as if the very hounds of the underworld bayed and gnashed at her tail. Had she the presence of mind, she might have realized that her burden dampened her normal agility, denying her the stabilizing influence having both hands free provided. But that was a matter she did not consider relevant to the current situation. The bravado with which she had convinced herself to investigate the city in the first place was now something of a dry well, faced with the prospect of an actual flesh-and-blood villain. And so her focus was explicitly on rejoining the rest of her party, and the comforting presence that came in the company of friends.
It was a break in the canopy of tall buildings and marketplace signs that finally granted her a reassuring sight: a tuft of spiky traffic-cone orange hair, and the gentleman that was attached to it, standing a few flights above her. "DONNY! Donny Don!" The girl shouted, waving up at the man in question excitedly without regard for who else in the city might be close enough to hear. If he was there, then Metal-Head couldn't be too far off. Spotting a long staircase headed in the right direction, the young artist took a sharp turn, and began a swift ascent to meet with him. However, she was unaware that Aubrey himself had taken to descending the very same stairs she was so quickly rushing up. The consequences of this were a near-crash, as she just narrowly managed to juke around the user of the Gou Gou no Mi at the very last moment, avoiding what would likely have been a very painful experience. However, there was still the issue of reducing speed. Rather than take the time to decelerate herself, she simply snagged onto the captain’s arm, using him to as an anchor to prevent her from flying any further. “Aubrey!” She panted, her voice consumed by ragged breaths. It seemed that perhaps blasting around at full tilt while still recovering from major tissue damage was more of an exertion than she had initially expected. But that did not stop her from launching into what she had found.
"I went down the hill and was like 'Fwooosh',-" Her words were came rushing out all too quickly, accompanied by a spirited pantomiming of each of the individual events mentioned, "-then I went into the city, but there was like no one outside, so I was like 'Huh', so I kept skating and I then I heard something and there was a guy, who was like '“Haha, I'm a bad dude who kills people-[/b]'," she said, attempting to mimic the flat tone of Babet's voice "-and then there was another guy who was like 'Haha, I order you to kill more people!'-," Again, she reproduced the individual's manner of speech, this time trying to sound deep and imposing, "-and then they split up and then I wasscared soIranawaytofindyouguysandthenIsawDonandthenIcamehereandranintoyouand-," At this point she was forced to halt her interpretation of events and gasp for air as if she were a diver who had been too long submerged. Collapsing down onto the steps, Kallie took to heaving in and out heavily. It was a minute or so before she was able to collect herself enough to continue.
“Oh, also.” Struck by a secondary though, she raised up her feather friend for the others to see. “This is Mr. Chicken. Mr. Chicken, these are the guys I told you about."[/size]
