While the adventurer, who felt extremely small in size though he was rather an average height, listened to Ruo, he had to admit he didn't know what a doubles match was at all. But it seemed to work as an explanation so he nodded his head approvingly.
He listened intently to Ruo's explanation of the man he was fighting. He was agile, it seemed, which wouldn't pose that much of a problem for the cutlass wielding hero. Though, now he was reduced to an old slightly rusted weapon. He hoped that the gum would eventually come off his normal weapon... He rather liked that cutlass. But, regardless, someone who was able to toss him around... Kurosaki didn't find that as much of a threat as getting shot or stuck to a wall.
"Oi, don't apologize. We're going to get out of here just fine," the blond replied with a thumbs up. "All of my fighting experience has been in sparring. I've never had to fend for my life before, so we're in the same boat anyway." Kurosaki grinned at that, as if it wasn't a big deal. Ruo told him that his mom had never raised a quitter and proceeded to get up and rush at the bubble gum tossing woman.
He had to actually laugh at the shocked face of the cotton candy haired woman as she stared down at the huge massive zoan user barreling at her and then threw herself to the side at the last minute.
It seemed like none of the sticky substance embedded the giant's movements at all. Which was a relief to the adventurer. Maybe he could even retrieve Kurosaki's cutlass later on after they defeated these guys. Which meant that Kurosaki's new opponent was...
The man in the white pajamas.
"Looks like it's me and you this time," Kurosaki told him as he placed his sword behind his head for a moment and looked at the man confidently. "So, whose move is it first?" While he sized up his new opponent, the blond circled slightly, keeping his weight centered mostly. If he had to be thrown, he would use it to roll and come springing back up to his feet just like in all the spars he had done with Ryou back in the day.
"I don't have all day. Your buddy that went on ahead I'm sure is feeling lonely," he taunted, trying to get a feel for this new opponent. He dusted himself off with his other hand that wasn't holding the sword and looked back at the little monkey who was now on the sidelines, trying to keep high enough to be out of the way, but close enough to be able to see the sparks fly. The little critter grinned widely and made some loud noises whilst jumping up and down excitedly.
He had to admit that he felt good to have the little furry guy's support. Just a moment ago these little green moss monkeys had been willing to tear both himself and Ruo limb from limb but just as suddenly they had ended up on the same side.
Kurosaki turned back to face his opponent and pointed his rust covered weapon at him.
"I hope you got your latest shots. I think this thing hasn't been cleaned since the stone age," he added.
