After hours of walking through hills and mounds, the young CP9 recruit was feeling a bit tired, a bit would have been stretching it, he was getting a little TOO tired, he kept on walking, following the sensei who never seemed tired at all, in a sense, the old man reminded him of a goat, wise looking, never-tiring, scary when he wanted to be and moved around rock and crystal as if he had done all his life.
After who knows how many hours, the Sensei suddenly stopped at a deserted, rocky plain where not even grass grew. Neyruk noticed how the sun seemed bigger in this area, it seemed to scorch everything on it's path, he cleaned his sweaty brow with the sleeve of his marine shirt, suddenly he noticed a foul smell coming from it.
''Reasonable, after all the dirt, blood, sweat and tears it's absorbed, no wonder this smells bad'' he thought to himself
The sensei then turned to Neyruk, looking at him with cold, gray eyes and then talked quickly, the man in control of the conversation and the moment.
'You are a worthy opponent without weapons or powers beyond the reach of a human unaided…I know not why you seek this path—I will say this now: you do not possess the air of a killer”
Neyruk then opened in eyes in surprise, was he truly praising him? somehow it made him feel proud of himself for a second until he realized that this was not the moment to be, he would be once he learnt Shigan.
He bowed to his master ''Thank you sir but if I may talk, I want to protect the world from those who would harm it and if I must be a killer to do so then I will'' he then rose up slowly.
The master said nothing, only looking at his eyes, Neyruk was getting a little frustrated, what was this lack of emotion with everyone? Were they robots or automats or something?
The sensei suddenly waved a hand and showed an old friend, the old bathtub Neyruk had used to first learn Shigan a few days ago,
“Now then, two paths lay before you…on one hand you can understand the principles of the technique and on the other…”
His eyes shifted from the bathtub to the Sensei, he nodded, understanding that in a way, he had been through that stage and had understood that he had to simply do it, he didn't have to try to do Shigan, just do it.
The sensei the stopped for a second and then continued speaking, with a colder, darker emotion like a prophet foreseeing tragedies yet to come or a killer asking his victim whether he wanted to live or not
“On the other hand, you can learn Shigan’s more…practical uses…”
Practical uses, Neyruk then felt an intense shiver down his spine, this was it, the moment where he might finish the training where he left off, he concentrated and remembered how he had not been able to kill the director that night, what was different now?
It then struck him, he would anything whatever was Neccesary, a funny mantra but an effective one, he wasn't a killer but a soldier, if he had to fight to kill, then he would do so, now some ninjas will show up and he would have to fight one to near death until I strike with a Shigan bullet finger.
He approached his master a few steps and bowing again to the floor he said.
''I wish to learn the more practical uses sir''
And then, he waited for a reply.
