Alek greeted his first mate as the fishman made it onto the Haymaker. However, the pleasantries were cut short by the ominous calling of a certain Officer Falkes.
"I know you’re here. Whatever you’re planning to do, I’m not going to let it happen. I’d advise you and your crew surrender now. If you do you can expect a more lenient punishment during your sentencing. Who knows,” Falkes said with a small shrug as he eyes continued to scan the deck, “You might even see the light of day again once you serve your punishment out in Impel Down.”
The pair where just behind the part of the dhow ship that jutted into the sky to make space for a corridor down below. It would be a matter of seconds before they were spotted, and they still hadn't even gotten anywhere near the bowels of the vessel. Thinking up a plan, which, for Alek, was pretty crude, the captain of the Chess Pirates got to work.
"Wait here and get ready to run. When you hear screaming that's the signal." he said to Trent.
"Be careful who you taunt," said Alek.
Using Wiatr, the cyborg appeared in front of Officer Falkes.
"They may be in a checkmating position"
Of course, the line wasn't as cool as it could have been, but who could blame him? He had lived a sheltered life in Skypiea where all he'd known was chess and being drugged to sleep. Alek thrust his left hand out, and loosed a ball of flame at the marine Officer. It hit him full on in the chest, sending him reeling backwards and crying out in agony.
"Go!" he yelled, loving the exhilaration of it all. It was a live action game of chess, with one side not knowing what the other would do next.
Behind him, the deck started to feed the flame. Within minutes the whole thing would be up in smoke. Dashing down into the corridor of the Haymaker, Alek used the fire alarm to draw attention to themselves.
"Fight your way through!" he ordered.
Soon enough, hordes of marines filed up to go to their deaths. With a combination of punches, kicks and an array of weaponry Alek made it through to the other side.
"In chess, it's better to take out the opponent's pieces."
