Kamui sat at the quarter deck as he watched the sailors busy themselves with the ship. It was just after dinner and there weren’t as many passengers lingering around up on the deck. Outside, the sky was getting dark as the evening set in. The man wasn’t feeling as bad as the first time he rode in Balfangan’s friend’s ship. While he’d like to think that he had gotten over the whole maiden voyage thing, the fact still stands that a transportation vehicle for ferrying purposes was much less rough to ride on.
He observed the members on the ship and realized that his companions had not yet made an appearance since the meal. Of course, he didn’t mind if they did their own thing, but Kamui wasn’t going to be very happy if they had done something stupid or gotten themselves killed… or something. Then again, it wouldn’t be bad if something interesting had happened.
As if someone in the depths of the shadows had heard him, a sailor ran hurriedly towards the captain of the ship, almost tripping on himself in the process. Narrowing his eyes, Kamui shifted closer to the two men. It was one of those times where his certain “skills” where good for more than such a negative purpose.
“C-captain! There is a s-sit-situation below d-deck,” The crewmember sputtered as quietly as he could.
“Well,” The smoking leader asked nonchalantly, “What is it that has your knickers in a bunch? You’re a man. Act like it.”
“Sir… there’s been an… accident down in the VIP rooms. One of the chefs had visited Mr. Moneybags for his evening full-course dining… only to find him,” The male choked on himself as he tried to explain.
The connotations were enough for both the captain and Kamui to figure out. The male in command grabbed the young man by the shirt, “Who else knows?”
“N-no one. W-we were able to clear the scene before anyone saw anything. Mr. Moneybags was traveling alone, so no one knows anything.”
“Good… good. Alert the senior staff and keep quiet. We don’t want to strike fear into any hearts on such a… nice evening.”
