Good day, fine folks of Bon Voyage! We’re finally unveiling a new system that we’ve had in the works since shortly after we started rolling out the overhaul - the Account Rebate system!
The switch to the X-Poinz system was a much needed rebalancing act for the forum on the whole, making it so that new members and site veterans alike could start a new character on the same playing field. Previously, we had a site currency that allowed veterans to amass a fortune that they could use to leapfrog characters far past the usual starting point, leaving the characters of new members in the dust. While there were a few of these veterans who used their amassed currency to help out newer members, that was not a sustainable or even intended solution. On this front, the switch to XPz - a currency designed for the advancement of a single character and tied to their existence - was incredibly effective, and we are happy to report that these new systems are working smoothly and as intended.
However, this switch left us without a true reward system. In an ideal world, where we all have all of the free time in the world to pursue our creative hobbies, perhaps this would not be necessary - but, unfortunately, we do not live in that world. Thus, a method of encouraging and rewarding behavior from members that benefits other members and the site on the whole is something that the staff, as I said before, has been working on for quite some time.
The Account Rebate system is designed as a new account-based currency system, designed in such a way that it can be used as a boost to a member’s characters without upsetting the intended pace of growth.
