Ship:
La Colmena (The Beehive)
Ownership: Queen Pirates
Size: Small
Class: D
Appearance:
La Colmena is a caravel made of high-density coconut timber. Overall, the ship is rather fat and robust, in exchange for speed. Black and yellow stripes are drawn on the sides, inside the wood is dark brown, the deck is painted white. The railing is about 1,20 meter in height.
The most prominent feature of the ship is the big cabine in the middle that is shaped like a giant wooden beehive, that serves more or less as a living room. A door pointed towards the bow leads into it. Inside, there is a kitchen and an eating area on the left and a workplace for the shipwright on the right side. The walls are painted slightly orange.
The big mast goes right through the middle of the cabin, made out of dark brown wood. The sail is black, with the Jolly Roger of the Queen Pirates, two tulips, one red, one blue, crossed behind a skull. On top of the mask, there is a lookout. Also, the Queen Pirate’s flag proudly dances in the wind up there. The crow’s nest can be entered via ladder.
Behind the large cabin, the steering wheel is attached to the deck, which can move the rudder.
Several trap doors on the deck lead downstairs into the hull, the first one right behind the bow. This leads to the cannon deck and anchor room, where both the anchor, ammunition and two cannons, one on each side, pointing forward, are stored that can be used from there.
Inside the Hive, near the mast, there is another trap door leading down to the main hull. First, one comes into a room with three doors, one leading towards the rear, the other ones to the bow. Of the two former, the left door takes one to the crew's room, where there are a couple of hammocks for them to sleep in, the other to the bathroom. The walls are left in their original dark brown color. There are two large portholes on each side of the ship to light the rooms.
The rear end of the hull is taken up by the captain’s room. Here, Melosa has a comfortable bed, a desk for maps and other things that need organizing and several shelves for the things she collects throughout her journey. The walls here are painted yellow here. Several armchairs stand around to comfortably cuddle in.
The small caravel is fast compared to bigger ones, still is pretty slow compared to usual caravels due to its size.
Upgrades:
- 2 Cannons (Rank 0): Right behind the bow is La Colmena's canon deck, where both the anchor, ammunition and two cannons, one on each side, pointing forward, are stored that can be used from there.
