-Calamity in the Calm-
~After coming abroad the ship that would locate them to their new base, Dante and his trio of sub-ordinates; Yuri, Ayumi and Rae have been joined by the Santate Stowaway. The leader of the bunch set-up a sparring session between the girls and now all four were tending to their injuries as Dante gathered his analysis. There wasn’t long left now to reach their desired destination but little did they know, things weren’t always calm on the calm belt, despite its name…~
* * *
The immoral marine sat at the desk in his room, a paper placed in front of him; a pencil in hand. His mind worked back, taking in flashbacks of the practice tag-team fight that had taken place on deck the morning before. Hanabi’s final charge played through his head as her body slammed into the fragile frame of Yuri. The thought of his own body being in that position caused him to shudder but he knew he had a weapon in his hands. If he could make Hanabi his own, she would become the secret weapon to his team. Nobody would expect such power from their group. None of them looked immensely strong, apart from Hanabi that was and even still, nobody would expect her to pack such a punch.
Breathing out, he managed to exhale a sigh as he let his body relax. He had finished his report and it was time to let the girls know how they had done and what they had to do to improve. After all, what’s a sparring session without an appropriate feedback session to follow? Dante hoped Yuri had made a decent enough recovery to walk her way to the dining area independently. Otherwise, it would be wiser to hold the meeting in quarters.
Right on cue, a knock surfaced at his door. Dante looked at his dial and nodded his head, pleased. Ayumi was very good with her time keeping.
“Come in...”
Ayumi entered all smiles, dressed out of her gear and in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, both blue although of different shades. She skipped toward Dante and stopped a few feet away.
“Good morning Reems! I’ve got the girls up and in the dining room, even Yuri. She's much better now. Breakfast is ready to be served if you wouldn’t mind joining us. We are all ready to hear all about yesterday’s analysis. I even asked that miserable helmsman guy to join us but he said he had brought his own food and would manage fine on his own. How rude don’t you think? Anyways…”
“I think I got the message. Why don’t you head back and I’ll join you in a few minutes. Although I doubt that you’ve got anything more important to add, if there is anything of the sort, you can tell me over breakfast. Good job with the timing now off you go.”
Ayumi was a little disappointed that her conversation had to be abruptly stopped but the smile soon reappeared on her face with the little praise she had received. She hoped there was more to follow in the appraisal.
The team captain had noted the refusal of Kabul to join them. Ayumi was polite enough to ask him to join them but obviously he felt obliged not to. Dante hadn’t liked him when they had first met and his opinion of him had only grown worse. Not only had he not spoken to him properly through-out this trip, he hadn’t even bothered what his role was as a marine. Was he supposed to be their guide or was he just a transporter. From what Dante could asses, navigating the calm belt was easy so any moron with a bit of sense could manage. Perhaps they sent him out because they couldn’t be bothered dealing with his moody attitude.
Grabbing his report from the desk, Remus Dante left his room and headed for the kitchen area, ready to report back his findings and have a bite of breakfast.
