Farewells are a funny thing, one expects something with anticipation, makes a thousand plans for that eventful day, packs one's needs and wants and his thoughts are always focused on it, yet, when the time to say goodbye arrives, and mostly to loved ones, you cannot help but staying in the spot, without knowing what to say, how to act.....
This happened to the young boy of whom this story takes place for, whose brown eyes had filled with tears as he had hugged both his mother and father, they had spoke softly to him.
''Be careful out there'', ''Write to us when you arrive'' and other words he now could not remember, he saw the vast wheat fields of his childhood pass before him until only a sea of gold remained. The carriage went on until they arrived to the docks.
He had never been there, he hadn't ever seen the sea until now, an infinite blue laid before him as if the sky had turned upside down and the sun-rays reflected on the water showing infinite crystals of light which blinded him for a second. He exited the carriage and politely asked where he could buy a ticket to board a ship, ''to the left, see that line of people waiting?''
20 minutes later, he bought a passage to Ilusia Kingdom, expending 2000 berris on the ticket. Before anything else, he grabbed his luggage and his large, wodden scythe, boarded and went straight to his cabin, he looked around, it was a simple cabin, nothing too fancy yet conforting. A small room with a tiny bed, an armchair, in which our protagonist left his bag and his scythe. He left the cabin and went and went straight to the restrooms, after a quick trip to the toilet he washed his hands and a character looked at him from the large
full-body size mirror.
He saw his own tanned, bronze like face, covered with a light layer of black facial hair, his hair was still short, just the way he liked it,somewhat spiked. He chuckled at his own shirt even if he had read it a thousand times, always funny, ''Shake it, Move it, Slap it, You know you'll like it'', his blue jeans were getting a little old, maybe he'd buy a pair after his first pay check.
''Later handsome'' he said to his mirror doppleganger and walked to the ship's cafeteria, passing through a corridor, a marine stopped him on the way and kindly asked for his ticket.
''Where are you headed to young man?'' he asked kindly as he stamped the ticket.
And Neyruk Integer answered with a confident smile ''Off to become a great marine sir''.
